I'd possibly give you $7k without the front bumper, winch, and lights. Did you pay a lot of money for it in its condition like this, buy it burned out and you built it back to this, or build it back to this after it burned while you owned it?

$18k is a pipe dream compared to what sells in the $22k-26k region.

The truck was rebuilt when I bought it. I've put a fair bit more into it so it's drivable. I understand 18K is a pipe dream on this site and probably most anywhere. I was talked into it by my cousin, who buys vehicle at insurance auctions. It was not as advertised and I'm just trying to recoup some of my money. I've been driving it the last couple of weeks when the weather is nice, now that it is drivable. It's fun and runs well. I wish I could just keep it at this point, but I have other priorities.

It will be posted on Ebay starting tomorrow evening for anyone who cares. The reserve is more in line with what you guys have been offering. There will be interior pics listed as well. I've attached one more exterior pic for fun from my office parking lot. Yes there is a plastic bag over the steering column. I've since rectified this with a proper cover.

Thanks for all your input, even if some of you were less than polite about it.

So, the original salvage is due to an engine fire?

I don't know for sure, but based on what I've seen it was a dash fire.

any pictures of the under sides, doors, crossmember, rear frame, bulkhead, footplates.

these would help in a value, is it running, would you feel safe driving to Galveston?

I've added a whole slew of underside, floorboard, and bottom of door picture on the ebay listing.

No it's sold for $12,000. That was the ebay listing that I didn't cancel before it started. I canceled it within the first 20 mins, so that pic is a good find.

Still on the fence if I made the right decision on purchasing this vehicle. Drives great. Had a certified mechanic look at it on Tuesday and was told all it really needed was radius arm bushings and a drive belt. The body has had work done and is not level without. Panels have dents that are barely noticeable. Of course the dash is what I need to get to work on. Ive been told I can get a TD5 dash in there but still trying to source one.

Back on the market. It looks like it's on eBay right now and bid up to $12,500 after 3 bids - hopefully they're real bids that can be backed up with real money!

This is a '94 Land Rover Defender 90 with a Salvage title. It was subject to an electrical fire in the dash. The new custom dash was built with simplicity and durability in mind. There are no interior panels to rattle or worry about getting scuffed/scratched up. Bulkhead is intact without rust. All wiring has been replaced with OEM Land Rover parts. The vehicle has been checked by a certified Land Rover dealer. New additions are ignition switch, clutch, fuel pump, and alternator.
