You were asking $25k because you needed that to get out from under. You add $10k because your boat is bust and needs fixing.
Sounds to me like you need to reevaluate your toy purchasing decisions.
Don't expect to get bailed out here. eBay sounds like your best choice.

More likely he undervalued it to begin with and realized he could fetch a bit more...

It is worth what someone is willing to pay.

Thanks for the responses guys. Everyone's situation is different and life throws some unexpected curve balls so I am exploring options. Can't hurt to compare selling defender to getting another loan.

Sort of... Defenders hold their value and boats, lose value rapidly, hence the acronym BOAT (break out another thousand)

Good luck.
And of course has nothing to do with the geni cements provided by owners of NAS defenders dying to over evaluate their own truck ;-)

From what I've seen in the past several years $25k for a (relatively) low mile defender is a bargain. I've seen mid 80s trucks go for above $17k.

Everything I've observed when searching for my truck tells me that this would be at least $32k on the open market if not more due to the artificially inflated costs from dealers that get a hold of a second hand truck and flip it for thousands more. Aside from jacking up the price randomly, the asking price of $35k seems like a reasonable starting point for negotiations.

No? Am I missing something? Is this truck haunted or the scene of a murder?

Thanks for checking in guys. I am keeping my Defender for now. I ended up financing the difference of the boat and spreading out the payments so I can keep the Defender.

Sorry for all the back and forth with selling/not selling, price, etc. It was just a rough couple of weeks with one thing after another. Its all good now.
