Wrecked

This is the same Defender 90 before the repairs, the paint and the cleaned title. No frame damage. Doesn't take much to total a Defender 90.

Do you have the full cage for the truck?

which tranny does it have, is it original?

how is the rust situation?

does it have AC?

done a head gasket on it?

If i do a carfax will it show a totaled status?

Did they re paint it the correct way when they did the respray ie. strip
everything down then prime and paint or just a quickie?

Thanks,
Ron

-The truck currently has the full roll cage installed as well as the Tickford soft top.

-R-380

-There is rust. Nothing structural, just cosmetic. Base of the doors.

-NO A/C

-No head gasket repair. The engine is not the original engine that came in the vehicle. The engine was replaced after the accident. The engine that was put in it was out of another Defender with les miles. The motor is probably one of the nicer parts on the truck. Never had any problems with it. But I use it, and I think they like that.

The Carfax definetly shows that the vehicle was totaled. Not trying to hide that fact. On my North Carolina State Title it says on one line that this is a Rebuilt From Salvage Vehicle. Its never effected my ability to finance the vehicle.

For a while I was a ski instructor at Deer Valley in Utah. The vehicle was painted their by a local body shop. I think they did a great job. The jobs 2 years old, but I've seen series with original paint that looked better.

If your interested in this truck you really need to come and see. The price is where it is for a reason. A perfect reconditioned salvaged vehicle should sell for $2000 less than one that is not salvaged. I'm selling this truck for $7000 less than a like new 94 Defender ($20,000) with the same mileage.

Other notes: If you want the hardtop installed I can do it, no charge. The truck will also be completely tuned up, oil changed, plugs....etc before delivery. I might even be able to throw in 4 new U-joints.

Reason for selling: After my girlfriend walked around with it on her ring finger for a few days she decided she would much rather have a ring.

Oh that is bull. I sold my last one to get Alyssa a range rover--never again! She better be a good girlfriend.

Is the fastback a 94 style or 95 style. If 94 I would buy it if the new owner did not want it.

Ron

PS I saw this truck at Uwharrie about 3-4 years ago and it was definately not messed up bad in the accident. Everything was strait except the hood/fender/front corner. Unlike a lot of salvage trucks this one was really light damage.

If it uses snaps it is a 94 style, if it uses belt rail it is 95 style.

Humm, if I came home with another truck I would be living it in.

Good luck with the sale. Try posting it on pirate4x4.com as well.

Alright, since it does not look like I'm actually going to sell the truck here at this site we might as well talk about the top. My tickford top still has the snaps on it. My tonnea cover and my fast back have a rail. The metal rail is riveted to the vehicle. In order to avoid having to take the rail off and on I decided to drill into the rail and install snaps. The snaps just screw in. When its time to use a belt rail top the snaps come out. The rail that was added to the cover is shapped like a J. It was done that way when I got it. The snaps were not removed. The rail was cut to go around the snaps. The J part of the rail just hooks under the metal rail. It works great and if I knew where to get more of this plastic J rail, I would have it put on the tickford top. In fact my brother Will H. (aka: Defender know it all) very well may know where to get this plastic J rail. The tonnea with the plastic rail came from him. So Will if you're out there how about a quick response...
