Nice ride, well built. A good example of what can be done if you don't care about keeping a rover engine under the hood. Glad to hear it performed well towing.

Thanks, thats probably what will make this a hard sell though. Everyone wants one that is stock, regardless of whether it is as slow as a turtle and not the most reliable.

The engine and tranny have around 35k on them, both front and rear ends have around 2k, and the speedo is showing 115,000. I'm selling it because I only get to go offroading twice a year, and we have started a new ministy that will consume even more of our time.

Uhm.... Is this a good way to help sell it?

Sorry to see you loose interest in it.

You probably have a point. I was hoping to show its capabilites, I could see how that would make someone wonder though. I'm not trying to hide the fact that I take it off road, that's what it's built for. The fact that it performs so well is what makes selling it hard for me. We were in clayon OK this last weekend clearing trails from the ice storm and I almost decided to take it off the market. Instead I decided to lower the price so it will sell before I change my mind.

Are you sure it wasn't "Rev. Jesse Jackson" or "Rev. Al Sharpton"?

However, might I remind you, that the payment to the board for assisting you has not been recieved.

The invoice reads:

We really MUST know, how did you link the new transmission to the transfer case.

He bought a two wheel drive NV 4500 transmission and had the mainshaft turned down to intercept the LT 230 transfer case with an adapter in between. All custom.

I have parts for a customer truck from Marks in Austrailia that do this with a spud shaft. Advance Adapters can sell these to you as well.

James was an early conversion of this type. Sad to see him let it go really.

Jim's right, in 1998 when I did it I couldn't pick up the phone and call advanced adaptors. Like he said to over simplify, a piece of 1/2" plate and some mechine work.
