No that was a different Defender at the small car lot. I kept this truck hoping to drive it a lot during the summer, but only wound up putting on a few hundred miles. I think right now it has about 44.5k miles on it or so. I probably sold it too cheap lol.

Ha I still really don't understand why you couldn't just post it up for sale on the forum here instead of dealing with all of the crazy Craigslist people...plus it could have gone to and enthusiast. Seems pretty dumb on your part, but it sold so oh well...probably for sale for double right about now.

Anyway, here's another 1994 white with 46,000 miles for $45,000 - phone number is associated with D'Franco's Pizza in Islip, NY.

Ha - you never tell us where your trucks go though, plus how many of your customers are on here?

Like what ever happened to that Beluga Black 1995 D90 with the big hole in the passenger side tub that I was looking to buy that you then bought?
http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...ad.php?t=23955

Or the 1997 BRG from Nantucket that you were going to buy then fix up? We never see build threads or anything.
http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...ad.php?t=31031

Just sayin'.

Sorry for not taking the time to post build ups. I didnt buy that 95 from dog bite and the 97 I sold to someone on this forum for just a little more than what I paid for it and never saw it. I will try to be a better forum member in the future Horsey...

Really? It was Sock # 968823 #EC1436627 on your ecarlist back in February 2010 when you were still Red Mountain Rovers at around $28,500 or so.

Gotcha. That truck sold to an enthusiast in Bham who owned it up until a couple of months ago. It's currently for sale again if you want it.

Josh, who cares if it gets sold to an 'enthusiast' or not? By enthusiast, do you mean someone on this message board? Why should that matter? I've met quite a few Defender owners who have never heard of D-90.com who were certainly enthusiasts. I've also met Defender owners who love their trucks but are not enthusiasts, just people with trucks.

I don't understand the line of questioning here...

Horsey has a hard on for people who make money by flipping trucks. If they have a dealer license and do it for a living it's even worse!!

God forbid you make money off your hobby.

Update!!!

Just got the defender. It was completely misrepresented. I told the guy if he would give me 20000 of the 23500 I paid for it I'd gladly send the car back and he refused.

Some consider them members of the family...part of the illness, it's kinda like selling a family member for profit (anyone want to buy my sister?). That said I feel similar to Josh's train of thought...I would take a slight loss to sell to a guy that was like minded.

Wade had started some 50-odd threads here - most asking for help with his truck. But when it came time to sell the truck, he couldn't even be bothered to let anyone here know it, and as you could see there were members here who had tried contacting him and they were all ignored. He's an adult / he can make his own decisions, but there are always members here who are looking for Defenders in an entry-level price bracket since most of the ones on eBay and elsewhere are priced $10-20k+ higher than the $24k this truck was priced at.

And yes I was teasing Golden a little about his practices here, since as Barry pointed out this is a hobby for most (and not a business), and when trucks are posted for sale here, they are usually not the dealer prices you see on eBay and the like. Members here are for the most part looking for entry-level priced defenders, and yes I find it a little messed up when Golden or some of the other guys buy the $15-25k trucks that are posted here, and then are quickly sold off to some unknown place for thousands more. But that's purely from the buyer side, and I know that people like Golden and some others do some good by having that cash on hand to be able to make a quick transaction with a seller who may be looking to sell quickly. I just often think of it from the point of view of members I speak with/to who are looking at a truck and have it swept out from under them while they try to get a day off of work to go see the truck in person to make sure it's not a rust bucket, while Golden shells out the cash sight unseen.

I know it's hard to see but hear me out. I got in this business because of my passion for land rovers. Hell, I have 50 at any given time and some I've had for 2 or 3 years. Thats not normal for a typical car dealer. Understand I'm just as much enthusiast as any of you. This just happens to be a hobby that pays. And when ur choices as a kid in a small town that ur family owns half of is to farm or buy timber I went with something that made me happy. Cars
