I have been a little bit busy this morning but will take pictures of the seats without covers this afternoon. Using my little green tractor to haul this to the recyclers. It's no 1 ton dually but it does great!

Me neither. Just can't understand why anyone would spend $6000 on a rifle made for killing people at 1000 plus yards. Can't really see the " need ". his money though.

The snipers in our tac teams are simply armed with Remington .308 bolt action rifles...pretty sure they are nowhere near 6 grand...no clue about military sniper rifles though...

it is a pretty cool looking gun, nothing I'd spend that money on though. he may have been exaggerating but I can't be sure.

Are you implying he shouldn't be allowed to then? He might think the same about our outdated and unsafe Defenders.

A Barrett .50 Cal is a hoot to shoot at ground squirrels, large rocks, or varmints at distance. You don't have to shoot people just cause you own one, just like a lot of folks here don't run Moab or any trail just because they spent $10-100k on a Defender.

GLWS, sweet Disco.

I sold my Barrett to buy my Defender. Just as SMac said they are amazing to shoot long distances with. I have hit a target from just shy of a mile with match ammo and a bunch of math to figure out the trajectory. I have never seen in the Barrett brochure where the rifle was designed to kill anybody or anything for that matter. Come to think of it I have never seen that in the instructions of any firearm I have ever bought.

Love when the anti make such a bonehead statement regarding a firearm. , specially when the context of the statement shows pure ignorance of the subject.

And if not an anti, well even worse

Frank my apologies for clouding the thread

Agreed! Barrett's are a lot of fun, bullets are just pricey.

For many a Barrett remains the Holy Grail. For others it's a Defender.
A lucky few they achieve both.

Rocky nailed it. I love to shoot, but could never justify that kind of money for a rifle. Likewise, lots of folks love to drive off road, but could never justify the seemingly absurd price of Defenders. (They drive jeeps instead)

So about that Tdi Disco...

Awesome truck! GLWS. If I had the cash I'd swipe er' up in a heartbeat.

Fantastic truck, if I hadn't just bought an LR3 I'd be seriously considering adding this to go along with my 96 D1 5 speed.

Mil sniper rifles can easily run close to 6k when it comes to both the rifle and the optic together (at least in terms of the prices I remember from the M40A1 and M40A3's I had). The Barrett...well, that's not exactly a 'sniper' rifle...hence the SASR designation, but for most its close enough-and def fun to shoot.

Good luck with sale, I'm shocked it hasn't gone already.

Frank, GLWTS. If you can hold out a couple months maybe once the gen pop have income tax refunds in their sights people will loosen up the purse strings a bit. Your right! Folks probably can't build a comparable truck at this price point.

Jeeps are cheaper? if you compare an off road capable Defender to an off road capable Jeep Rubicon LWB, Looking at their recent prices I would say Defenders are cheaper.

Last I checked, there haven't been new Defenders available on the American market in almost 20 years... comparing the price of a new Jeep Rubicon to a 97' Defender is of course unfair.

On the other hand, look up the price for a 1994 Jeep Wrangler... yeah. They ain't selling for the high $20's...
