So, if you set off the alarm, the truck will still start?

Not sure about that...I'll do that when I get home and see. I know the alarm goes off if a door is opened after the front driver's door is locked but not sure if you can start it or not

My neighbors shouldn't mind too terribly!

There is a little black and white "ecu" under the dash on the passengers side, behind the glove box. Since windscreen seals leak, the computers fill with water, corrode, and then randomly set the alarm off or sometimes shut the ignition system down. I would have loved to figure out how to bypass that thing but the ecu acted as a grounding switch apparently. I wonder if your removing the motor ecu would eliminate that function.

Yes, with the alarm sounding, the vehicle starts just fine! Kind of annoying to drive down the road that way I imagine!

That would suck. Like I've said before, this was professionally done and it works fantastic...though I honestly don't understand any of the wiring and could never figure it out.

Ok...I'm down to the wire...
$9500 cash

Or I can remove the roof rack as I've been offered $400 for it and sell for $9100 without the rack.

I doubt anyone can build a diesel discovery with these bits for this price

Frank

I've had several people ask about the driveability of this vehicle and whether it could be used as a daily driver..

I use this rover regularly and it is a better daily driver than it was as a V8. The drivetrain is much tighter than before the swap. It takes a while to warm up as anybody with a 300TDI will attest and could probably benefit from a radiator muff but pulling the trailer on the highway for several hundred miles was no big deal and ran at normal temperatures the entire way. It will cruise at 70 with the trailer on flat land but on hills it pulls down as most small diesels do( of course my rebuilt 4.2 I had before did the same thing).

I just took it on another hunting trip, hauling a trailer and ATV. On the land I hunt, I had to drive through about a 1 foot snow and I had one of those "that's why I drive a Land Rover" moments as I had to drag the trailer over some logs hidden under the snow, between trees, and around the cabin before clawing my way back up the hill to leave. With Amsoil fluids throughout I was able to start it at 0 degrees Fahrenheit though the battery seemed to be weaker than it was last year, and the transfer case and transmission worked properly.

Bump for a great truck. I have a 97 I picked up this summer and I LOVE it! It's a great daily driver. Quiet and heat that works. LOL
Franks is a better option being a 94 (no OBD issues) and factory 5 speed. The door lock thing is a few hours of sorting under the passenger foot well. I have over $2k and a complete donor truck in just sorting the details in mine after the swap was complete and drivable.
For 10k, this is a steal. I would buy it if I didn't think it would cost me half of everything I have. GLWS

Replaced the battery since the one in it did not want to start the diesel at extreme low temps...now there are no issues cranking it even we'll below freezing. The glow plugs work great

I've had several people ask what extras I will include with the sale. I have a 96 Disco parts car I am stripping at the moment so I could practically load the back of it for you...replacement axles, headlights, taillamps, turn signals, door handles, differentials...your choice within reason.

I will eventually be listing disco parts for sale but have been trying to hold off on most of it so that somebody could get what they want with this vehicle as spares....

Thanks,
Frank

Surprised this hasn't sold... a buddy of mine sent me a link saying, "I wish I didn't just spend $6k on a sniper rifle!"

Thanks
