'93 RRC LWB for sale

If you're looking for the $50 Porcshe being sold by the scorned wife this isn't it. However, if you are looking for a solid RRC LWB with minimal rust, reasonable mileage, that runs well this is for you. I'm clearing out projects that I won't get too. The paint isn't pretty and the interior shows it's age but it is right for the price. Comes with an extra set of freestyle wheels and door cards. I'm taking a loss to move it. $1600

Mark, what color is it? I cannot tell from the pics. Seems like a screaming deal.

Matt came down but walked away. He's looking for the 'barn find' based on what he apparently wants compared to what he wants to spend.
There are 129k miles on the ticker. It looks better in photos than up close...wish I did too...haha. It is Beluga black (what's left of it). I don't know if it was clear coated or not but it's a mute point today. There are the small dents and scratches expected after 21 years too. The interior is decent except for the typical problems (worn driver's seat and drooping headliner). The rear quarter seals are showing normal aging but not leaking. It starts and runs good. The Y-pipe will need to be swapped out (I have one here) because some jackass stole one converter when I stored it on a friend's commercial property during the garage build. The rear muffler is shot too. The floorboards and wheelwells are rust free. The rear crossmember that supports the corrugated aluminum floor pan is rusted but it's only angled steel. That is very common but most don't know it unless they had to pull the carpet for a fuel pump repair. The etc light is on (probably a bad wheel speed sensor found on every later rrc and disco. I bought this for a restoration. If you've been here you know I have more than enough to keep me busy for years so I won't get to this. I recently considered fitting the body on my F250HD 1 ton chassis but that too is more than I want to take on.
This is a solid platform for a restoration if that is what you're looking for. As an offroad vehicle it needs only taller springs and mud tires. I don't want it to go to crap just sitting around. That is why I'm taking a loss to move it on to a new owner. I have the title in hand (actually 2 since I stood in line at the DMV for 1.5 hours yesterday to pull another title having left the other in my safety deposit box on the assumption that Matt was going to purchase it).
Some have asked if they could drive it a good distance to get it home. I cannot guarantee that...it's a rover. I drove it around Richmond to evaluate before I purchased it. The tires look good but have some age on them. It starts, drives and brakes okay and has not overheated. Personally, I'd trailer it than risk a breakdown before I had a chance to fully go over the vehicle.
I have recently considered breaking it down and selling everything off to recoup my money. I don't need the parts as I already have a crap load of spares including quarters, wings, doors, electrics, moldings, mirrors, etc. If it doesn't sell for the asking price that will be it's demise though.

I have a '95 RRC LWB that Matt has also passed. Perhaps we should bundle our trucks?

But seriously, it would be a shame to part out your RRC (though I did a cost model on the salvageable parts on my LWB using eBay prices and couldn't believe how much more it's worth parted out). Hopefully, you'll find a new home for your '93.

I'm not quite ready to offload my LWB yet, as I'm still working through electrical issues on my '95 RRC SWB. Good news is I don't have to harvest the 4.2 or any other part of the powertrain from the LWB, as my used 3.9 has been transplanted by Dr. CarlosZ and has been running well for 500 miles already. I'm hoping that once I finish with phase 1 of my SWB project, I can sell the LWB as a running project truck to someone who will give her the attention she needs to stay running. I've never wanted to have two RRC's at the same time, though it is kinda nice having both a SWB and LWB from 1995. I've always wanted a Defender for my second Landie...
