85 110 on ebay- awaiting another poor victim

NOT MINE- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1985-...item19d83fecf4

Too bad ebay doesnt allow comments. At least the truck doesn't look rusted out. I love how they had the badge made to reflect 001/500 on an 85, and leave it as RHD after they swapped it to LHD.

Some poor bastard is going to do what I did, buy a truck blind, and find out too late he's not getting what he wants.

That total Rhino-Line job is a commitment. There is little chance of a quick re-spray if you do not like the color.

Plenty of people in So FL to look at it. I had always wondered where 1/500 was. What it was doing with it self.

Apparently 1/500 has been overdosing on Rhino Lining. It needs help.

We converted this truck from right to left and installed a/c etc.. Installed terra firms rock sliders and wheel spacers etc etc.. It was white and customer had the whole thing rhino lined.. I can tell you he put a lot of money in this truck and it runs pretty good.. Not sure who did the engine swap before us but it was a v 8 truck at some time.. We installed the new interior and he had the roof lining done in suede.... He had a local stereo place install the DVD screens and BIG stereo.. Reverse cameras etc etc... Brand new tuffy box etc etc... I know the previous owner had at least 70 grand in it...I believe we also just recently replaced left and right front outriggers... Note.. We did not install the engine or do any driveline work on it.. Whoever installed it was not a professional..roof rack was special ordered from England (g4 spec I believe) only to find that it wouldn't fit with a ribbed roof so we had the raise the whole rack 1 1/2 inches and have it all repainted etc....will have to find out why he sold it as he loved the truck last time I heard..

Poor victim?

Posting a link to something you want to buy on a forum and waiting for comments from people who have never seen it in person is not the same as having a mechanic check it out or, better yet, driving it.

Aside from Josh tracing the ownership, you won't get any valuable feedback unless someone has actually seen the truck.

The truck looks nice to me. If I were interested in buying it I would fly to Boca and take it for a drive.

If the truck has a stupid badge on it and some other aesthetic "upgrades" you don't like it really has nothing to do with anything mechanical.

------ Follow up post added January 22nd, 2013 12:46 PM ------

Also, I have nothing to do with that truck. If you are going to bash a truck your reasons should have some substance. A decorative badge that a used car dealer doesn't realize is meaningless does not make the truck a lemon.

Your time would be better served sending the seller a message that the badge is decorative.

I'm pretty sure I've seen that truck at The Rover Shop, and it was well executed. Full Rhino/bed coat may not be everyones taste, and yes may drop resale value, but its a very appropriate finish for a truck that is actually taken off road. (yes that was a poke at all the tarmac pussies out there)

I coated my FZJ80 in white U-pol and have popped-out many an off-road dent with no visual reference afterwords. Had it been paint, you seen an outline. And it hold up to brush racking and repeated power washes great.

While I'm not a fan of 80s 110s & 90s, its not a bad deal
