69' IIa complete resto

Hi guys,

Got a IIa that was rebuilt from the ground up about 6 years ago. Build included:

New Frame, Chevy 350 Crate Motor, New 33x10.50 BF All Terrains & Paint among many other little things.

It's a great looking Rover, does have a couple little paint imperfections when looking over real close but great shape never less. I drove 1400mi cross country in it late last year and with the 350 there's plenty of power, cruised 70mph down the interstate all day long.

Only thing that could use some attention currently is the brakes, they had been working great (disk in front, drums in back) but i had a little leak coming from the brass fitting where the fluid is directed to the front and back, stopped up the little "vent hole?" where it was leaking out of as it ran out of fluid up top and got some air in the line and have not been able to bleed it all out properly to work right.. The pedal goes way down before braking and the back brakes are sticking a bit. I've had a Mech buddy help me and we cant get it back to normal.. i think a guy that know LR braking needs to give it a look. Drive it around the farm currently but wouldn't want to drive any distance with the brakes being a bit sticky in the back.

Over 15k invested it truck with rebuild Asking $12900. OBO going to put on here first maybe Ebay in a day or two. I'm in Summer Shade KY My # is 270-670-6738 if you have any questions

I know where there is a correct bugeye grill for it.

Good luck with the sale!

The bugeye grill was one year only and is shaped like a T. Late IIa non-bugeye had a metal plus grill and that has an SIII grill.

That doesn't look like Rover drivetrain underneath so probably not Rover brakes.
Do you have any more details on the transmission, transfer gearbox, front and rear axles?

Was just thinking what kind of wheels are on it which goes along with the non-Rover drivetrain. Curious as to what is underneath as well.

The previous owner restored it, I don't know all the exact pieces but the drivetrain was beefed up for daily driving, interstate speeds etc. it has the Chevy 350 with matching transmission and NP 205 transfer case. Not sure on the axles, but larger aluminum wheels and tires as you can see.

There's a Dana 44 up front, so thinking that the works came from either a Scout or a Chevy. Guessing it's a Chevy C10 donor. The 5 on 5 1/2 lugs on the wheels are the giveaway that the axles aren't Rover.
Seen worse hybrids, such as my own early attempt.

Cool looking truck. There are some additional pics of the truck if you google "1969 iia Maine 350"
