Would you please go over the the expedition portal and post that you want to dump your cruiser for a Rover. It would be endlessly entertaining.

Try selling the fj cruiser on ebay or Craigslist. I don't think you are going to get many bites from this forum.

I have it on Craigslist but that only brought one 'bite'. This website has brought more. When I get back to Oklahoma, if the deal I am working on now falls through(hope not), I will post on Craigslist and maybe ebay.

Try ebay!!! Also, a tdi is not your only option. Ebay is also a good place to look for a defender.

I have been trying, trades are not wanted.

And while I was very hesitant at the thought of going for a Disco, I am now very keen on it. The cash that I am saving allows for plenty of upgrades. And I can learn to work on land rovers.

P.S. Will post a picture when I am driving it home!

But I am being offered way below what I need for a Defender. On top of that, I just had to take out a loan for college, I want to pay that off before I start looking at a Defender.

Anyways, earlier people on this forum suggested I get a Disco and learn how to wrench on
that before I go up to a Defender, and I am taking that advice.

EDIT: But if anyone wants to give me the money for a Defender I am not going to say no

If you're looking to wheel on a budget Rovers may not be your thing writ large. May be better to launch the FJ and get a proper offroading Toyota...like a Tacoma

Regarding the learning to wrench on a Disco vice Defender, that's kinda backwards in terms of relative complexity but properly ordered in terms of cost of entry. Underneath there aren't a whole lot of substantive differences between a 90/110/D90/D110/D1/RRC, skills and knowledge will transfer as you evolve in the marquee.

Good luck!
