2004 Disco II SE Bonatti Grey

Hey guys, I took this on trade a couple days ago and figured I'd give you all a crack at it first. I will get pictures up as soon as I have an opportunity, but it's Bonatti Grey with Black Leather, Heated Seats, CDL, Newer Tires & Brakes, Metal LR KIT A-Bar with Off-Road Lights (the bar is rusting pretty badly, but the lights and vehicle itself are in good shape. It drives great, just turned 100k miles. Please contact me with any questions or to discuss. $7,500

Pictures!

Sorry it took so long. As you can see, it is in pretty good shape overall. In one picture I tried to point out a very small chip in the lower portion of the windshield, but I couldn't get my camera to focus on it, so it looks like a larger blur (which I highlighted with a yellow circle around it).

Both rear corners have small dings in them. As you can see, they are not very bad, and may be able to be removed with PDR. The heated seats, windows and both sunroofs all work correctly. I did notice there is a little bit of curling beginning on the dash, but not bad at all and the switch panel that holds the window switches and heated seat switches seems loose.

In other words, it's a Good, Honest Discovery that's Not Hiding Anything.

Also, I just attached the Carfax. The First Owner had it for 5+ years, the Second Owner had it for Two and a Half years, the Third Owner is actually the Dealer who Sold it to the my customer.

I have had my 04 D2 for a 1-1/2 years. Two wheel speed sensors replaced. Plastic fitting on the radiator starts leaking if not replaced. Minor stuff. It has actually been great though. A cross country trip with the family. Beat it up in Moab last year. It is mostly the family vehicle though.

Good to know I'll add that to the look out list...it should be here by the end of next week, soon after she's off to the shop.

I figured I would throw a few pictures out on the registry. BTW - I hope you did not get it for the gas mileage

Yeah, about the same as the 90...I bought it for my oldest daughter and I think it will be a good fit. She's worried about the "long Nose"...lol. For a first car I think shes doing pretty good. My first was a 1976 brown four door straight 6 Ford Maverick back in the 80's and I thought I was styling!! What an easy vehicle to work on.

Biggest issue is the front cover misallignment and oil pump failure. The "three amigos" lights. Thermostat/running hot issues (there is now a different thermostat you can fit -- check discoweb). Radiator leaks are common. MAF sensor failures are common. You should change the trans fluid per the book.

All that being said, they are pretty solid vehicles and a good starter vehicle for a young person.

I was told about the oil pump issue but that it was more likely to occur on years prior to 2004. I guess it will now be a required that I join Discoweb...I just have so much fun here!! lol...it will hurt to have it take away my time from the "Source".

I think it bled into early 04s. At 100k it probably would have happened if it was going to. Make sure to run synthetic in it. Much more important in a GEMS/Bosch truck than a 14CUX in my view. Rotella 5w40 works fine and is cheap.
