Nope, not a rover, but a great off-road vehicle with a similar military heritage. I had a D90, a nicely modified Disco II, and an NAS 110 and this truck is easily as durable and capable. Having been a rover enthusiast for a long time I figured there might be a few people here that would appreciate it for what it is.

Oh yeah, and the rovers didn't come stock with lockers

BTW: for a fly and drive I could pick up at the Denver airport and even put you up for a night if needed.

I was told that the G wagen is built on a Peugeot chassis, the P8 military Peugeot jeep. Anyone can confirm this ?

With the 5.0L V8, you're looking at around 12MPG in town if you drive sensibly. Coming from my 110, it took a little time to get over accelerating quickly from lights and hopping on the freeway -- just 'cuz I could.

On the freeway, I've seen as high as 17 or 18MPG, but again that is using cruise control and keeping speed at around 70 or below. If you haul as at 80 or above you'll see 14 or 15MPG on the fwy. It's a box on wheels so that wind resistance at higher speeds definitely takes a toll.

I'm not sure about Peugeot, but as I understand it, the G was originally hatched with Steyr Daimler Puch as a military specific vehicle and was sold by MB as a civilian vehicle.

Change in trade criteria -->

I decided a truck would actually work better for my plans so trade criteria is now:
Early to mid-2000's GMC Sierra or Chevrolet Silverado 2500 4X4 Crew Cab truck.

Mileage on the G500 is now 89,919.

Sold

Thanks for the interest, but the G has already been sold. I didn't bother updating because I would have had to bump the ad to the top do that since we can't edit.
