200 TDI vs. 300 TDI?

Well guys, I am curious to see what your thoughts are...

If you had to pick between the 2 to put in your 110 which would it be?

I have heard the 200 is easier to service, but parts are hard to come by these days is that true?

300tdi, it gets better milage, i think parts are easier to get cause there are more 300tdi's and they are quieter.

200 is no easier to service than a 300 really.

the 300 is better to do the cambelt, as you don't need to drain the coolant system down (or disturb the water pump)

300 (as stated above) is slightly quieter, but by no means silent.

the 200 will drop in where a 2.25/2.5 4 cylinder used to live, using the same chassis mounts and fitting pretty much all the 4 speed (series) and 5 speed (LT77) gearboxes.

300 will need different chassis mounts (PM me your email and i'll send over all the dimensions for them) and (to be a "factory" install) an R380 box, although the LT77 can be made easily to fit the 300 (Read about it all here)

My preferance is the 300.

Have Had a dozen or more of each and prefer the defender 200. 200's are know to get slightly better milage. As for which is quieter some 300 trucks are quiter but its because of tremendous amounts of factory installed insulation. All that said a tdi is a tdi. If you don't look under the hood its very difficult to tell a difference. Parts are equally easy to get. Only the 200tdi head is nla. The 300 head will retrofit onto the 200 block without issue. Many many parts are interchangable between the two engines..

I have two 300tdi and one 200tdi. The 300tdi is the way to go in anything other than a series vehicle.(And even there the 300 might be preferable, but I haven't done it so I haven't had to work through the problems) You can't find a 200tdi head, the injectors are twice as expensive for the 200tdi and the timing belt is harder to replace.
