1999 Range Rover 4.0SE - $5.5k, 97k miles

Putting this up for my manager...hopefully I'll get some extra time off for this. HAHA.

Details that I know, so sorry if they're sketchy. I can ask him more if so desired.

1999 Range Rover 4.0SE with 97k miles. He's been looking to donate it to the Fire Department for I think a $5.5k tax credit, and would be willing to sell for the same.

It's been sitting in his driveway on and off for the past few months, because he thinks perhaps the master cylinder is broken. He said it shakes when he starts it. Definitely an engine issue, but he's been getting different opinions from mechanics as to what it may be.

Everything else fine with it according to him (except front driver-side headlamp washer broken), and he still goes out to take care of it from time to time. The adjustable suspension is still functioning as well.

Here are the pictures he sent me.

This is a $3k+ part, but I happen to have a brand new one (yes I do have everything), in the foil bag he can have for much, much less than that price if he wants it.

Fairly certain its silver. I'll confirm tomorrow. Any other questions before I quiz him? I'll ask him for more pictures.

Yes. I want a true tailgate. Tired of the rear door.

OK he sent me more pics this morning. I asked him for the bottom of the tailgate as well, as I'm fairly certain that's a rust-prone area...I know it was on my XJ6 at least. He said there's no rust, but I'll have the pictures confirm. I also asked for the error code and picture of the cluster, and he said he'll take a picture of that tonight or tomorrow morning, but said that there were no error codes coming up for the engine the last time he started it.

Sorry for the picture quality...he and Gustavo should start a studio together I think.

Probably no interest, but figured I'd update; he's had nothing but trouble trying to donate it.

If you think you might want it, you can post on here or PM me...I'm not going to be insulted as it's not my truck.

I'd give him $1500 max for it as that's about what it would bring at auction not running right. Not trying to be an ass, but he has to realize it's not worth crap with "issues".

Or even without "issues". The tax fraud route is the best option. He can claim that 5.5K which he would never get from a buyer in a bazillion tries.

If only the 2nd gen RR wasn't so horrid...

Yeah, like I said he's been trying to donate it.

Doug, is that a real offer?

Only a real offer if he will deliver it to me in Maine for that price. So I would suppose not.

Doug, if you are looking for a P38 I have a 1997 Black 4.6HSE for 3200.
Close, cheap, runs and drives, everything works and inspected.

I do not check PMs. Call or email if you need something.

ECR is not a parts source. We are not in the mail order business.

Thanks Mike - I am far far far from *looking for* a P38!!

At $1500 to my door I'd strip it, 'ebay it and use a few parts on my D100 build and use the seats in a custom '31 Chevy roadster pickup street rod project I have on the way way waaaaaayyy back burner.

Maybe but I don't need another project, and I'm cheap.
