SOLD, for asking price.

I now do not own, for the first time in 10 years, a Land Rover. I do have a bunch of parts that I will be getting rid of as soon as I get around to see what all I have. I am laying off Rovers for a while, I sure I won't make it but a few months, but I am going to try. I am also going to see what it is like to not read this site every single day. But am sure that won't last either. I am after all a Roverholic.....

Cheers.

Why are you giving up on Land Rovers?

I need a change, I get up and read this site, I take break at work I read this site, I get home I read this site. I get up Saturday (my only day off) I work on/modify my Land Rover, it seem my whole life has turned into any and everything land rover.

I mean my daughter ( 6 years old ) cried today when I sold my land rover, now I did too, but I believe she thinks that it is way too important than it really should be. Also where I live going off road is a road trip first, which I hate. There is nothing within 8 hours that I want to wheel on. It is dirt or mud and it is an "off road park" to boot. Nothing wrong with that, but it has to be a planned event to go have some fun. No such thing as getting up Saturday morning and having a little fun hitting the trails, then heading home. If I lived in some place where that was possible, I would totally keep it. And on top of all that I have a really nice FJ80 if I really need to off road complete with lockers.

Plus my dad just bought a Dodge Challenger and I kind of got the jones for a fast car. I am sure it won't last...but I am just ready for something new for a while.

Well done on the sale, and I especially appreciate you reporting the sale price. For some reason most people don't like to share that.

But very sad to hear your story. I think you should have moved instead. LOL

I agree about the moving thing. I have actually been looking into it. I hate where I live, every time I get a chance to go on vacation, I head west. Or at least some where with some nice mountains. Or at the very least some where that the ground is anything but rice fields and flat.

Oh and as you can see I am still hitting this site, been on since about 7:35am this morning. I think once Rovers really get into your blood, you just can't get them out. I guess I am just in denial...I can't quit.

Follow-up Post:

Oh yeah I think my truck sold for the asking price because everyone else trying to sell comparable vehicle is still asking for last years prices. I mean last year I could have probably got $40k+ for the truck, but unfortunately it isn't last year. I really thought about hanging onto it until things turn around, but I figured if I didn't just "do it" I never would.
