No one is slapping you around, your comment was just confusing since I thought with your volume you may be a dealer but you were saying you wouldn't want to sell to a dealer because they'd mark it up, but if you're a dealer I'm sure you're marking this up, so I was just clarifying. This is the first NAS I've seen from you. Looks good for 130k miles. GLWS.

Here in Nevada I don't have to pay sales tax on a used car if I buy it from a private party and I do pay tax if from a dealer. Doesn't matter what state the vehicle came from.

Wow, I saw this Truck in LA almost month ago. Story that belonged to Video Game Designer. He was selling it for $39K not $20K higher a month later. This site is becoming like a Dealer's Auto Trader Site.

That is exactly what I was posting. When I went to register my truck that I purchased in Texas I had an additional expensive surprise.

I will say that here in SC you have to pay sales tax..........it's capped, but you still pay it.

It is not the sellers job (private or dealer) in my opinion to tell you what the law says in your state........that is on you.......there is nothing shady about this seller not clarifying that.

GLWS, nice truck......free bump!

The seller needs to state you will be buying from a dealer vs private party as that distinction alone is a several thousand dollar difference for many states.

I guess I disagree, but whatever.......a seller (private or dealer) can't be responsible for knowing every purchase law in every state.....that responsibility and due diligence should fall on the shoulders of the buyer.

Perhaps this should be another thread instead of dicking this one up........Again, GLWTS...nice truck.

No slapping. I think you're both right. I think the buyer is responsible for his sales tax situation - in NY, I pay sales tax to register regardless of dealer/private sale, but the seller should be clear and reveal that he is a dealer...especially on an enthusiast site such as this one. The dynamics of a dealer versus a private transaction are very different. It is part how people perceive the whole transaction.

I don't begrudge the plan of collecting D's, getting to enjoy driving a bunch of them and then flipping them for some dough! Jeez...I'm jealous...it's just not that easy to pull off.

My only two cents is whether it was Himalaya or this situation, what irks many people is the weaving in of home spun stories about the recent great inspection, or the kids, or part of a divorce settlements, or other subtle attempts to lay low. It's all about full disclosure...GLWS...clean truck!

Ok, ok, ok......I have my dealer license and you'd be technically buying from a dealer, Neo-Classic Cars, LLC. However, let's be 1000% clear. It is never, was never, will never be any intent to deceive anyone.

In any event, I have some very nice ones coming over.... RHD 110 with 68k documented miles, a very clean 90 soft top and am looking at a fire truck with 28k km on it.

I had thought the photos looked familiar but I'd thought maybe he'd just had it for sale a few times. I was wondering why the quality of the photos was so low. Just saw the Cali plates so the pics must just be straight from the prior listing.

Anyway back to the regularly scheduled program. Looks like we've cleared up a few things here.

So Devin, how much did you pay for this NAS 90?

In the spirit of full disclosure and all...

IMHO, It seems like autotrader eBay & the like we should at least create a system whereby vendors (dealers, etc) have their section and private parties have theirs. That way you at least know who you're dealing with and can have a recourse to deal with possible future issues.
At the end of the day op or anyone should be allowed to flip and sell whatever for whatever they want and should never have to disclose their original purchase price. Do you guys ask RN or lucky8 or whoever what their price was before markup??

Just my $0.02
