1997 D-90, one owner, local, automatic, 73k

Hi all. I came upon this site when looking for more information about Defender 90ís, as I recently took one in to my dealership. I hope its okay to post a car for sale as a dealer - I didn't see anything that said it's not okay??

Here's my story; I have a small, specialty dealership in Bellevue, Washington (20 minutes east of Seattle). I sold an Acura to a woman for her daughter and at the time of that sale she asked me if I would be willing to help her sell her Land Rover. I said I would be happy to help, so she brought me a red 1997 Defender 90 that her late husband bought new at Seattle Land Rover in 1997. She said itís been sitting in her garage and is used sparingly and she felt like it was time to let it go, so after some discussions and negotiations she decided to just sell it to me.

I immediately took it to a local Land Rover specialist in Bellevue called Biggs Automotive. They are great guys and are experts on Defenders (and are much more reasonably priced that the dealer). I asked them to do a thorough inspection of the car, which they did. I had them repair everything they suggested with the exception of two items. One was they wanted to replace the rear wiper which was removed (not sure why other than the switch on the dash is stuck) but I felt it wasn't really that necessary, and secondly, they wanted to replace the speedometer as the digital display on the odometer seems to come and go, but I was assured it's still accurately clocking the miles. I felt it was better to not replace the speedometer as I didn't want the actual miles to become suspect. I felt it was better to be able to intermittently read the actual miles rather than having to explain why the odometer reads 0 miles. Again, everything else they suggested, I did.

As far as what was done to the car, I would be happy to fax anyone a copy of the repair bill and inspection sheet. Everything they found and repaired is listed. I also have the original purchase invoice as well as an assortment of service receipts from the original owner. Additionally, I have a printout from the Land Rover dealer showing each time the vehicle went in for service - it doesn't detail out the work done, just gives a date and miles at the time.

I have the car listed on Auto Trader and Cars.com with lots of nice pictures for $32,500 and I will take $29,000 for it. It's has a little over 73k miles, is in extremely nice condition and runs great. I don't know enough about these cars to list what it does and doesn't have as far as options go, but looks completely original (with the exception of the radio, which I replaced as the original one wasnít working).

Feel free to call me and ask any specific questions you want. I'll answer them as best I can with complete honesty. I'm also happy to email additional pictures if that would be helpful.

Thanks for your time and if you're looking for a super nice Defender 90 - this might be the one!

I can vouch for these guys... bought my D90 from them a few years ago and I got a great deal on a great truck.

If anyone from out of town is interested in this one, I would be happy to give it a look.
