1996 5 speed disco

My brother in law has a project disco for sale in Blue Point NY
It needs a little work but it would be a great project for someone who has a little more time than they have to get her back to snuff

Copy and paste from disco web listing:

Its time to pass on my Land Rover Disco I, 1996 5 Speed Manual. We are original owners and we decided last year to restore it mechanically and cosmetically. Well, we got through most of the mechanical work as you will see below, except for a persistent misfiring problem when it warms up. I have three young girls entering driving age, and I need to find a car for them, so the Disco needs a new home. It needs some help with the engine misfiring, and needs body work around the door frames and wheel arches due to rust, but is a great platform to work from, especially if a 5 Speed is your desire. You will see a long list of work we have done on it already, and I include a video of the car so you can see a full tour.

I am asking $2700, but will listen to reasonable offers.

1996 Land Rover Discovery I
5-Speed Manual Transmission
Original owner
143,000 miles
Engine runs well on startup but misfires especially on highway. This will need to be addressed.
No accidents, but one body repair on roof, thanks to parking garage attendant mishap.
Exterior body in good condition but rust on underbody especially near wheel arches and sills.
Interior in very good condition except for headliner.

See the good and the bad in the Video tour and Slide show:

He wants it gone.
Cut the price in half to $1350 Obo.

I would hate to see it bought and parted out, but I see profit in this if that what it takes.

If you are interested I can pm his cell phone number to you Dan.

I can tell you he has pumped thousands into this truck to get it back to "dependable" status and is DONE spending any more into her.
Work was done by expedition imports (Scott Dalton) out in St. James.

From what he told me it was brand new I'd have to confirm with him.

He got back to me regarding the transmission. Complete rebuilt unit swapped out for old one. Cost $2500 for the part.

Do I sense a little sarcasm towards The Dro?

Quite honestly I couldn't believe it took that long.

He had a lot of out of town interest from what he told me. Hell if I had the driveway space, I would of considered taking it off his hands myself.

I'm surprised too, ESP given the ExpO predisposition towards the white and the lean toward the 5 speeds over there.

All about the market and marketing I guess.
