I just PMd you. We agreed if you ever decided to sell it you would offer it to me first. And considering its only been 6 months I find it hard to believe you forgot about that already. Lame. Good luck with your sale.

Have you done a bunch of work on the truck over the past 6 months or does it sit the same as how John sold it to you?

It looks like from John's thread, that it's a Borla

Im assuming all the dents, dings, scratches, trail rash and corrosion were repaired which is why its not mentioned in any of the ads. Must of had to remove the body and sand blast the frame and running gear to get all that scale off. Thatd be an easy 10k in labor so lets not give him a hard time about price.

Photoshop - note all of the "O"s have the same black marking on the bottom left of the letter, and the "A"s are also all identical. The top of the "R" and top of "P" are exactly the same, too.

Yeah and looking closer, the letters over the rivet is a dead give away. Still very cool.

Did he offer ot sell it back to John at a price closer to what he purchased it for? That would seem to negate any complaints John might have, in my opinion.

Why is the OP selling? Did you find a different Land Rover that has caught your eye? Just curious.

Good Luck with the sale.

Yup, Photoshop.

Yup, bought it with possible intention to sell for profit. History is lettered with people that buy low and sell high.

Nope, didn't buy as a charity (hold it 'til I'm ready to buy back). Pfft. Lame.

Since the title is in my name, and it was paid for, I am well within my right to post on cars.com for one price and here for a lower price (albeit higher than purchase price). So sue me.

I've seen a few posts where people buy low and sell high and the flaming they received. I knew I wasn't any special and would received the same.

This truck is being offered for sale since for six months, it has mostly just sat there, sans a few trips to the OC, work and the New Year parade route in Pasadena, CA. By the way, the number of people that stopped to take pics was a testament that this thing has huge presence.

So with all due respect to those with an opinion, might I suggested a separate thread where we can debate the virtues of capitalism, why I'm lame, why I'm a class act and possible re-educate folks on supply and demand?

No one is debating your right to flip the truck. I paid 18k for the truck you paid 25k and you want to sell it for 35k. Congrats more power to you. What pissed me off is when I sold it to you I was very clear that if you decide to sell please offer it to me first and you agreed. You went on to tell me how sentimental you were about your old 90 and of course you would offer it to me first.

Clearly you word doesnt mean anything. Happy to start a new thread to debate that or you can be a man and reply to my PM or pickup the phone and we can take this offline where it should of been discussed in the first place.

The principles behind "capitalism" and the principles behind being a gentleman, and honoring a gentleman's agreement do not always need to be diametrically opposed. Sure, when John's wife was pregnant he realized he could use the cash more than the Defender, but at the same time this was a highly-modded and personalized-to-his-needs truck, that he LET you buy for less than the amount he paid to get it to that point...based on the expectation that he knew who the truck was going to. He was upfront with you when he was selling you the truck, and having known John I know he was both getting a feel for your character as well as your ability to pay for the truck when he ultimately decided you and the truck would be a good match. I can guarantee that if you were as upfront with your intentions as he was with his and you had said "In 6 months I'm going to offer this for sale for x2 what you're selling this to me, OK?" - I know John would have said piss off (or something someone from Maine would say) - instead you agreed to offer the truck back to him before posting on the open market, and you clearly lied. Simple as that.

God damn, really?

Being a man, replying to your thread. You're right, it "should have" been discussed offline. It seems highly ironic you were the first to plaster this thread with mud.

You have my number, call me if you wish.

Just so that this thread isn't a complete waste, I would like to see pictures of the undercarriage and suspension bits. Javier, by my calcs you've priced the truck as having appreciated by $50 a day over the past 200 days of ownership; does that mean if it doesn't sell by July it'll be approaching $45k again? Honest question.

Unless you're selling a set of 5 white Wolf rims...then apparently you can go up in price.
