1995 D90 SW for Sale

This is very well maintained Defender 90. It is a 1995 and hence a five speed manual which is the best tranny option for the NAS, IMO. It is also a very rare color in 1995. There are only 500 station wagons imported to all of Northern America in 1995. Dont' be fooled by the mileage, this car runs EXCELLENT; mechanically sound, it has been my commuter for the past 11/2 years.
Replaced Recently:
- Oil cooler lines
- Distributer cap/rotor and wires
- Spark Plugs
- Valve cover and intake manifold gaskets
- Breather hose
- Complete exhaust from cat back. (sounds amazing)
- Oil and oil filter
- Clutch cylinder

Added Extras:
- Hella Night Vision headlight upgrade with white HIDs (a must on these cars)
- Hella amber fogs with yellow HID conversions
- Hella roof rack lights (All wires are hidden and run through roll bar)
- OEM roof rack with 2 ladders
- OEM front grill/bumper
- HiLift jack, pick and shovel on roof
- Kenwood stereo with complete Bluetooth and iPod/iphone control and wired mic. Satellite ready , 2 amps and 10" JL Audio sub with original sized Infinity speakers in stock configuration.
- Clifford Alarm with door actuators to open close side doors
- Chassis has protective coating for rust protection
- K&N lifetime filter (just Cleaned)
***All added modes are completely removable/reversible for the purest, all stereo components are in original spots and are tied so no extra holes.
Serious inquires only please. This is an amazing truck and I have taken very good care of it as you know they are appreciating in value. Thank you for the interest. Please call with questions. I have the clean title. 818-653-1401. It has 122,000 miles and I am asking $29,000 for it.

Interested in purchasing a D90 and love the color and specs. Im a first timer and dont know enough to mess with any of the guys here just concerned though about the high mileage and also wondering how negotiable you were as I was trying to spend less, considering i'm young and not married long enough to start sleeping on the couch. Thanks.

As a point of reference, I recently purchased a stock '94 d90 with 133k miles and a rebuilt engine (close to a true rebuild), brand new r380, brand new tcase, brand new clutch, slave/master, coil, dizzy, water pump. Almost no rust and overall in really good shape. I paid 17k. I got lucky.

This one does look to be in good shape, and I love the Arles Blue. Sounds to be fairly original with the basics updated (oil cooler lines, plugs/wires, and ummmm...an oil change and just cleaned air filter). Of course the valve covers and manifold gaskets were replaced...the whole exhaust was just replaced!

If you arent willing to fly out to cali, coupled with being so new to d90's, this might not be the best idea for you. Inquire about the paperwork he has and if anythingelse has been done (at least head gasket). Unless, you know someone that can really help you out and take a look at it with you. There are plenty of people here on the board that would give you an honest opinion.

Sorry I was late getting back to you...

I will be happy to take the car to have a neutral party to look at only if you are very interested (please don't waste my time). I think my price is fair in that there is about 6-7K of upgrades/maintenance done to it and the truck runs great. I just recently placed it on EBay, there are a lot more pictures posted there, here is the link:

Thanks for the interest.

You really know how to win people over. If someone is willing to pay to have it looked at by a neutral party you would assume they aren't wasting your time and on top of that you get a free evaluation to find out exactly what is going on with your truck. I was more than happy to take my truck to the dealer for someone else to pay for an evaluation. Bet case I sell the truck, worse case I know exactly what issues I have with my truck.

I don't know that basing part of your price on money spent on maintenance is realistic. That said, it's a nice looking truck.

My costs

OEM roof rack with 2 ladders: about 2K installed
Hella lights installed with HID in front and wires hidden in roll cage: $800 (labor intensive, so I was told)
Stereo system and installation: 1K
Alarm with door actuators: $600
Jack, shovel, ax, brackets, and installation/welding: $400
Headlight: Hella night vision with HID low beam and halogen high beam with installation: $400
Oil cooler lines with installation: $300
Cap/rotor/wires/plugs/oil change/K&N: $350
Valve cover gasket, intake manifold gasket, breather hose with installation: $350
Clutch cylinder parts and labor: $250
Complete custom exhaust with performance dynomax muffler and 3.5" tubing: $500

All work was done my professional mechanic and hence all the labor costs
Total = $6,950

Did you change the cross bars on the rack? They don't look like the genuine ones.
Rack, stereo, and lights are considered value added. Other stuff is regular maintenance and add no value other than proving truck was maintained as it should be.

Come to the NYC meetup this weekend, and we'll talk to you about it over beers.

Come see it.

I invite you to come take a look at it. If you are out of state I will pay for your flight up to $350 if you end up buying it. I am confidant that if you are serious about buying a defender you will buy this one as soon as you see it.

Well, it's been planned for almost a month, so I'd say create a notification for the NYC Meetup thread so that you'll know when new posts are in the thread, and you won't be caught off guard next time. It would be a good opportunity to check out a few different types of Defender and get a bunch of your questions answered all at once. We only had two meet-ups last year, so it'll likely be some time before the next one.

To subscribe to a thread select Thread Tools near the top of the thread, and Subscripe to it. Similar action in the ForumRunner app.
