They charge like $1500 to the buyer.

Source: I just bid $33.5 (+$1500 fee) on this truck, although I am sure I won't win...

Yikes, considering he can (and did) post it here for free to both parties.

Nice looking truck but please update this ad with the following information per the rules.

Sorry, I didn't know the rules about cross posting the auction. Will mods please delete this thread. I don't want this to interfere with the current auction.

thanks for the heads up.

I had no idea either. How many times has someone posted their ebay link but not divulged the reserve price?
I'm sure this will be right back up from another haha.

Last I checked, BaT s $250 to the seller and 5% to the buyer up to $5K, So,,,,$33.5 = $1,675 fee.

Correct and they vet the vehicle to decide if they will list it plus they help you write the ad.
In my case, selling my 1995 RRC swb, they wrote a much better ad than I ever could.
It was a very enjoyable experience and their auctions prevent sniping like eBay,
I think mine went into 3 overtimes before an eventual winner emerged.
The posts about your vehicle on the BaT forum auctions also allows you to answer questions as the seller. Since there are a few know-it-alls that frequently post this is real helpful with the sale.
Last year I sold 2 Series LRs (88" and 109") on eBay and the 1995 RRC on BaT and BaT was clearly the more enjoyable experience and I thought I did much better there moneywise too.

My buddies and I feel the heyday of BaT may have passed us by... thanks to the vitriol and douchebaggery that's eclipsed the comments section. The tangents that go on really detract from what ought to be a useful question-and-answer forum for serious buyers. It's become a rare moment when someone jumps in to offer a nugget of experience that educates a prospective buyer - as opposed to the seller having to reply to a criticism about the lack of symmetry in the alignment of the wiper blades.

That's not to say that I don't spend an inordinate amount of my life on the site. And Jalopnik. And DefenderSource.
