1994 Green Defender 90 $38000 OBO in VA

I'm hoping my price is accurate, because if I don't sell while it's cold out, I won't sell her at all. I'm thinking of placing it on eBay, but figured I'd post here first, because she needs someone who really loves Defenders. So here's all the technical stuff:
1994 LR Defender 90 with about 36K miles, purchased from LR Honolulu in 2008.
Dealer told me I'm second owner, first owner lived on Maui.
VIN is SALDV2284RA942277, and the production number is 1279.
No accidents that I know of.
Slight dent on the right rear quarter panel due to a tire blowout.
Some rust, the worst of which is in the pics.
Old Man Emu shocks installed, about 2" rise.
Will include ARB lockers that I never got installed.
I think I have a tonneau cover for it, as well as the surrey top in the pics.
Off road tires installed, but I can include the original rims.
I haven't cleaned her up at all, so she's filthy in the pictures.
Cosmetic probs: most bolts are rusty due to me being stationed in Washington state for a year, soft cover has a small rip in it, previously mentioned dent (more of a bent edge), a crack on the dash edging, the center console needs replaced (including floor rubber around gear shift), and the CD player is worthless.
I figure if someone has the time, some skill and about 5-10 grand, they can make this a 50-60K rig.
Pretty sure everything besides the tires and rims is stock/original. PM me if interested, or for more pics.
Thanks!

Are those recent pics? Sure doesn't look like Hawaii.

Edit -- just saw in post title vehicle is located in Virginia. That looks more like it

If you really want to get top dollar for it you need to put some work in to it.

I would remove every piece of metal:
bumpers, tire carrier, light bar, seat box lids, front cage, etc and have it all repowder coated. I would repaint the rear crossmember. I would also get some radiator paint and recoat the radiator. I would also put some stock wheels and tires on. For a low mileage truck, this will help command the money.

Agreed on the above price range. I paid in this range for mine last August, and it was a nearly rust-free, 1-owner, 26K mile truck at a Land Rover dealership.

Do you have pics of your truck? You only paid in the 30s for such a low mileage truck at a dealer?

Interesting to that you don't have a full soft top for the 90. Getting a Badger unit (only respected top here) will run the best part of $3k and the lack of one is a real negative as you know in today's weather conditions.
Put the original wheels would boost (!) value to.
Being able to verify the low mileage with service history is recommended.
Removing rusty brush guard and other rust will help.
There is a market for aftermarket wheels and used brush guards on this site.
Paint looks dull or is it the light? How about paying for a detail?
Rusted seat box tops require attention.
Pictures of door bottoms and chassis necessary.
Sweating the details will help you maximize value.
If you prefer not to, please be prepared to adjust your price point.

No photos handy, but I'll take some good pics once I do a few more things to it. Overall it was a rather stock truck in amazingly clean condition. It needs a new soft top and was resprayed white from its original Arles Blue, which I plan to reverse at some point, so I'll end up putting $10K or so into the truck after I get through my misc. list of stuff. The Land Rover dealership in Dallas had it on consignment from a client who kept it on a ranch up in a remote part of Colorado (Weston). I noticed they had it right when I wanted to attempt to get out of my Range Rover Sport lease, which they got me out of at no loss while getting the $39,900 D90 down by $5K. It was a deal I couldn't pass up.

Why did a 26k truck need a respray?

Can you maybe start a different thread for this other defender? No offense intended.
-also, to respond to a previous post, the surrey top is on because i have been deployed since the summer and only started driving it again this last week, and I really appreciate all of the advice that applies to my defender! Thank you!

Can you give some insights re the mechanical aspects of this truck? Ultra low miles is usually more of a curse than a blessing if it hasn't been used consistently. How are the seals holding up? Does it burn oil. How often have the fluids, such as brake, steering, antifreeze been replaced?

She has an ever so slight oil leak. Replaced most seals and gaskets in 2009 due to taking the transmission out to re-attach a screw which connects the transmission to the gear box assembly. Most of the original rubber components have been replaced, such as the cylinder boots. She doesn't burn oil, i have maintained regular oil changes. Last time I flushed the brake lines was probably 2010, maybe early 2011. She spends 6 month stretches every year or so in my garage while I deploy. Not sure what maintenance was done on her before I bought her, but she starts every time. She does have a squeaky belt that I can't figure out. Squeals on start up in colder weather but goes away in under a minute.
AC works great but not sure what the point is since she's a soft top.

The squeal on start up could be the waterpump bearing going.

Update - price reduction to 33000

So, I'm getting ready to place her on ebay/craigslist. I'm going to list her at a $33000, but I'll let her go for a little less to someone on here if I can get her sold before I deploy again.

Btw, the slight oil leak is a good thing. You worry when they stop dripping! Glws
