1994 Fair Market Value

This is a 1994 with 120K miles on her. Iam the second owner and Iam looking for help with a “fair” price for a friend. I don’t want to loose my shirt but, I also do not want to rip him off. Any ideas??

Bryan, more details about the truck...

Clear title? Any rust? What parts have been replaced?

What top(s) do you have? Badger?

What mods/upgrades have you done?

Just looking at it as it is and assuming clear title and no rust...I'd say between $19k-$22k

The truck is has very little rust on it, clear title and lots of up grades. I also have a soft top in good condition and a bikini top that I have never put on.

18-20ish sounds about right if there are no major issues, rust or otherwise. I note the glossy flare on the front. Was it hit?

I wouldnt feel bad charging a buddy 21-22 for it. Thats a perfectly fair price if the condition is as you say, plus there's some goodies on it. If you friend wants to go cheap on you, keep the goodies and sell them separately.

Here is the general rule... I use to want to give friends a big discount too... Someone once told me if they were really a friend, they should pay you more, to help you out.

Do your research and sell the truck at a fair price for you and them. Don't give it away, but if you really want too, maybe take off a 500-1000 because of your friendship.

Or fill the tank up with gas.

More than half way.

Unless I missed something in the above posts...Bryan hasn't mentioned having a hardtop either.

Or you know, throw in a relay that will be the one mission critical part that ceases to function on the trip home.

Oh yeah, prescience is a real "value-add" you can use to benefit your buyer.

Has it caught on fire yet? 94's aren't worth anything unless they have had at least one good engine fire.

Yeah. Don't you know this will happen right after the paperwork has been signed.

Be sure your friend accepts the 14 year old, 120k mile part, and not simply 'I've always thought Defenders were cooler than Jeeps'.
