This truck was bought by me in late 1994 by the OW. It was in a slight fender bender and had one of the front fenders replaced at that time. Since then it has been a very reliable car but the years have taken a toll on it.
First the good:
Runs good and has never had any engine issues.
Body is straight.
Old Man Emu medium duty suspension,
Replaced rotoflex coupling about 2 years ago.
British Pacific Running Boards that are strong as heck and have saved me from damaging the sills on several occasions.
Regular oil changes.
Now the bad:
Last week I had a small fire in the engine compartment caused by PS fluid on the exhaust manifold. I put it out right away and there was no damage to the engine or components. The only thing that burned away were years of built up oil and PS fluid. I was in East LA when it happened and drove it home to Burbank afterward and had no issue.
The headliner sags big time.
The windshield is cracked.
The SRS light is on all the time.
Rear door opens only with key.
Rear windows and sunroof are temperamental.
Power steering leak.
Typical Land Rover oil leaks.
I will try and get the engine steam cleaned soon. If I had cleaned it sooner I do not think there would have been the small fire.
This would make a great platform to build a trail rig or if you put a little time into it it would be a fine daily driver.
Since I bought my 130 6 years ago the Discovery has been driven very little now that the 130 is my daily driver. With a little TLC it will be a fine truck again.
Truck is Black with tan leather interior.
Brush bar in front and rear tail lamp guards.
139,731 miles on odometer.
Tires have lots of miles left on them.
