You're going to need to private message me... I'm not going to reply to this in public.

I'll continue to do my best to reply to all worthwhile PMs in a timely manner, most of which go off to email or phone calls.

Travis

Just to be clear: I do not have to sell this vehicle. I know the realm of what it's worth currently and don't think there is a nicer comparable example on the market.

There will be no fire sale and my standard practice is generally to just delete low-ball offers without replying. I like to try my best to follow the motto that starts with "If you can't say something nice..."

Someone is going to get a superb D90 at a fair price, or else I'll continue to own one

Thanks for looking!

Best,
Travis

I think some of these would be purchasers would like to use your delorean to travel back to when defenders were cheaper.

Good luck with the sale.

For the record that tranny issue is typical of the slop in r380s and you have to be gentle even when new. It's not a race car. The mileage for a well cared for truck isn't that high.

Great line I recently saw:

Not driving a car to keep the mileage low for the next owner is like not fucking a hot girl to keep her pussy tight for the next guy.

With that said I put only 500 miles on my truck a year and I have one kid.

Been my experience that there are not a lot of retail buyers on this site.. you want to wholesale it you've come to the right place... otherwise you might have better luck on eBay. I was surprised at the audacious low ball offers I got on my truck as if i was some kind of noob that didnt know the market.

Hah! True dat, except when the next guy will pay you more than she's worth because he thinks it's tight!

Travis,

I can speak for Travis' Land Rover as he keeps it in superb shape with great upgrades (I still want your SG rear tire carrier!).

Hard to believe you're selling your D90. Are you keeping the Deloreans, and what about the family D110?

Pete

I might be selling my Defender, but I'll certainly still be lurking around this site for quality material like this

Man, this reminds me so much of my 94 SE. But the mileages at transfer are off, so I don't think it was mine.

I was second owner and sold in 2002 with 60k miles (in California and sent it east. Maybe Virginia?)

Mind if I ask the badge number?

I got mine at the LR Anaheim dealer - it was a trade in from the original owner at 25k miles so had the full build info. Originally owned by Mosimo - they used it in several adds. Had the leather seats (which were getting stiff and cracked at 60k miles). Rear bench was not leather. Never had a SS A-bar. Never had SS side bars (or any side bars). Bestop, not Tickford. The SE's seemed to be somewhat of special order trucks that could be customized. Number 1796 I believe.

Congrats to the new owner - that truck changed the course of many parts of my life.

and Barry -that is one of the best analogies I've ever heard. I'm gonna live that one - on as many levels as possible.

Ha! Small world. I believe your old truck landed in Potomac Falls Virginia. The owner lived near me and we'd bump into each other from time to time. He got frustrated with it one day and asked how I'd suggest selling it. I pointed him to this site. He sold it to a guy in Alabama about 2 years ago.
