1994 Defender 90 Soft top

am selling my 1994 Defender 90 soft top. I bought it from Dale from the Rover Barn about 2 months ago. Iam only selling because I bought a SW which fits my needs better. I dont want to sell it, but only have room for one rover at the moment. It needs work, most of which is cosmetic.

1994 D90
Arles Blue
Auto Conversion
131k ish on the speedo - Missing speedo cable, so I am not sure what has been on there since then
No real rust in the major problem areas
Solid frame- slight bend in the rear cross member
Newer engine, not sure how new, but it runs strong- may need an airflow sensor
OME suspension
Interco Truxus MTs on stock wheels (probably need to be replaced due to balance issues)
bumps and bruises on the body from being used as a trail truck

Selling for 17,500 firm

Below is a link to Dales pics of it. It is currently in the shop, so I cant take pics of my own.

Why's it in the shop? Almost bought this truck back in the day when the other PO (not Dale) bought the Unimog out in Seattle.

Do you have any newer shots?

It is waiting to be overhauled should no one buy it. Not at all a bad, truck. I hate to see it go.

I will try and get some more pics monday. The shots on Dales site are exactly how it sits now. They are really recent.

Very solid truck, with cosmetic issues. A great driver that can be restored down the road, but enjoyed immediately. The first owner(Replaced it with Mog) didn't want to sell either and I miss it too. Reliable and worry free- fun to watch others try NOT to park next to it:-) Seller is a great guy to deal with as well, and appreciate his asking using pics instead of asking forgiveness- best of luck with the sale and the new wagon. Cheers!!

Blue ST auto sounds like a good combo to me. What needs to be overhauled? Just cosmetic or are there other things?

Things on my list are:

New stereo
Passengers side body panels,
Extend Exhaust
Airflow sensor
etc

Thanks Dale for the kind words. I hate to see it go, but love the SW.

Ton of interest, but no bites. I would love to see it go to someone here.

Nice, it looks like you've already rec'd a bunch of interest on it via eBay...hope it sells quickly. Are the rear tire carrier and rear step bumper included? I remember it having them when Oliver was selling it, but don't see them in the pics. That boot cleans up the look of the auto conversion a bit for sure.

William, Dale may still have this in his records - and he may have futher tweaked it since it's been in his possession - but that Auto Conversion was done at Lamorna Garage in Ballard, Washington. They were also the ones who plumbed the transmission cooler. Looked like a few people were asking about that. Everything else seemed cosmetic, but that tire carrier and step bumper looked in good tick; Dale must have needed them for another project or something.

Lamorna seemed well versed back when this was originally for sale.

Thanks. For those waiting on pics, it is still at the shop. A new mass airflow sensor was being done today. I will go down and get pics tomorrow.

Agreed, some additional recent pics of the truck and problem areas would go a long way for me as well. Also, in the pics with the top off, part of the cage is missing. Do you have the rest of the S/T cage?

All of the ST cage is included. I will get more pics tomorrow. Again, the pics on Dales site are like 2 months old.

Redid the ebay listing and added new pics. I drove it home today, so I have it if anyone wants pics of specifics.

I got a ton of responses, but after putting new km2s on, speedo cable, new exhaust, new MAF sensor, and new o2 sensors I am going to keep her.

Next stage: arb bumper, winch, sliders, new tuffy console, fuel tank skid and bodywork.
