I really dig this truck, and would be in negotiations if I hadn't found my white ST awhile back! Should be a quick sale...

Any more details on the air box relocation. That looks like a genius modification. Eliminating the crappy hose between MAF and plenum. Obviously as a white SW you are a person of great taste and sophistication ... So perhaps I could trouble you to share a picture or 2.

I have no doubt you'll have no trouble selling this ...

Didn't he just ditch the factory air cleaner and run a snorkel with a filter on the top?

yeah just run the hose out to the snorkel, but then you aren't filting any outside air. Is a similar design to the RRC where the MAF shoot forward to the airbox. I've been a defender use the same RRC set up including the airbox and then run to the snorkel.

To answer the above questions:

Most of the upgrades and mods on the truck were done at LR Minneapolis. This includes the 4.6 upgrade. Since I've owned it, I have had all of the work done at Expedition Autoworks a LR specialty shop in town.

I did remove the k&N airbox and almost 6 feet of hose. I am now running the snorkel with the pre-filter on top directly to the plenum. I took a foam filter out of a dirt bike and modified it to fit inside of the snorkel giving some extra air-cleaning for dusty conditions. The foam filter is super easy to remove and easy to clean. It fits in the vertical part of the snorkel tube near the bottom. I think doing this really opened up the power and also added a little to the gas mileage.

Interesting induction setup, I did something similar; however, my airbox is partially under the DS wing.

Good luck with the sale...

Cheers...
