1994 D90 St #1552

1994 D90 ST #1552 Portofino Red 126k miles

$21,000

I am the third owner and have maintenance records from the beginning in 94. This truck was bought new in San Antonio, Texas and remained there until 2001. Because it was never exposed to road salt, salt water, etc., it is rust-free. I have done extensive preventative maintenance as well as upgrades/mods. This is a very strong-running truck that needs nothing. The transmission and clutch were replaced at 83k miles, so it has the R380 transmission. Also has A/C.

Upgrades/Mods

Old Man Emu shocks N115/N44
Old Man Emu springs 751/764 (2" lift)
Old Man Emu steering damper
Rockware front winch bumper with limb raiser tabs and two light mounts
Hella 4000 cornering beams (2) on front bumper
Heavy-duty drag link (Rovertracks)
Heavy-duty, high-clearance tie rod (Rovertracks)
Heavt-duty trailing arms (Rovertracks)
Mantec front diff guard
Custom gas tank skid plate 3/16" T-304 stainless steel from Slick Rock Fabrications
Rear corner bumperettes (Rover Accessories)
Custom spare tire carrier with jerry can mount and Hi-Lift Jack mount (Shrockworks)
Steel wheels (black)
Borla stainless steel cat-back exhaust
K&N air filter
Raised air intake cowls from Rovers North (both sides)
Silblade silicon wiper blades
Convex side mirrors (Expedition Exchange)
Tuffy deluxe stereo center console
Raingler nylon web side netting
Custom interior drop curtain
Hella H4 E-code headlights
stainless steel window studs, quick nuts.
Safari Gard 2 receiver
Stainless steel braided brake hoses

In an effort to make this truck as mechanically reliable as possible, I have replaced the following parts in the course of preventative maintenance and/or repairs.

Starter (Bosch cold-weather) - Ignition coil - Distributor cap - Ignition rotor - Spark plugs - Ignition wires - Water pump - Viscous fan clutch - Oil cooler lines - Power steering lines - All belts - All hoses - Fuel pump - Fuel pump relay Fuel filter - Pedal pads Tailgate hinge pins Drop arm and ball joint Tie rod ends Coolant temp sensor

All fluids drained and replaced. Amsoil fluids throughout. I have 2 tops, fiberglass hard top (excellent condition), original Tickford soft top (very good condition). The electronic temp sender and stock temp gauge have been replaced with a mechanical gauge for accurate engine temp readings. E-mail for photos. PT12505@adelphia.net

You could always have shipped. . .

Airfare is cheap compared to buying the wrong truck.

Phil's is a really nice truck.

I'm about a month away from officially looking. I pay my Disco off at the end of this month, then I'll be more serious about finding one. I really don't need one though, so I'd probably only act on one if it fell into my lap. Looks like a nice D90 though, I'm sure you'll have no problem selling it.

Phil,

Hope you don't mind, I copied this over to the muddy oval page, I have been discussing Defenders with a bunch of those guys lately and I know some of them are interested.

Matt...

Jimmy - I've recently been diagnosed with a couple of degenerative discs and a pinched nerve in my lower back, which makes wheeling (and many other things) kinda painful. It's in my best interest to give it up and find a more spine-friendly daily driver. As for the price, I didn't even want to try to get back what I've put into it because I didn't think that I ever would. I tried to price it in line with what the current market is.

I feel your pain, Phil.
(literally)
I've been dealing with lower back troubles for about 15 years now (curse of the tall man). Have you tried any of the coxx-2 inhibitors? I had remarkable relief from vioxx, back when you could get it.... The other ones aren't so effective for me, but it's different from person to person. I've done the accupuncture thing, and swallowed enough vike's & perc's to put down a herd of elephants. If it's any consolation, once your discs are completely gone (I have two that way and one nearly there) and you're just rubbing vertibrae together, it's actually better. I still walk around like quasimodo in the morning, and the pain is continuous, but I no longer get those spikes of pain that leave you crawling around the house. Try seat heaters, they really help me.

Oh, and if you find a cure, please let me know.
Best of luck,
Rod

Sorry, I sound like such a whiner.
But sometimes we have to suffer a little to do the things that make us happy, like driving our defenders.
The alternative can be bleak.

for some reason that just turns my stomach...and it takes a good amount to do that. Good luck selling the truck and best of luck to you both in your treatments.

Check out spinal decompression. There are some great docs in CO doing the treatment, as for StL yours truly is the best. www.spinalaid.com
