1994 D90 project - 45,000 miles

Bought my dream truck last year- this Coniston Green D90 with 45,000 miles. Unfortunately I've decided that this isn't the right time in my life to own her or invest in finishing restoring her.

I bought this Landy from a fellow who had just bought it from a salvage auction. The story as best i can tell is that it was stolen/recovered in early 2010 and the body damage was caused with a hammer. It appears that this Land Rover was a garage queen before she had that rough day, and besides the obvious body damage and some interior slashes, she's really in great shape.

In the 6 months that I've owned her I've had a great time wrenching on her, replacing the stolen computer, windshield, side glass, lights, wiring, many many interior bits, collecting body panels, and all together turning her back into a daily driver. I had her on a 1500 mile road trip last fall with no issues to speak of, and drive her to work every day. Included with the sale are the beginnings of my body panel collection, including replacement tub sides, front fender panel, sills, tail lights and so on. Was planning on getting most of the panels together before installing them to insure against a 5 color Land Rover.

-45,000 original miles - Carfax checks out
-Warn 9000i Winch - Unused, disconnected from the battery
-Full Borla cat-back exhaust
-Air conditioning - Works great and blows cold - missing one vent
-ARB bumper - slightly bent, new signal lights
-Branded Title
-Outlast seats, w/ inflatable lumbar supports - both seat backs are ripped but repairable
-Swing away rear jump seats in Outlast w/ inertia reels - ripped as well
-Badger top - some rips but I have replacement yardage from Steve at Badger, quoted $50 to fix at a local shop
-Roof Rack
-Dual Batteries w/ painless battery management system
-Tuffy center consol - needs new lock
-JVC head unit w/ Alpine speakers
-Absolutely no chassis rust, door bottoms, bulkhead corners perfect
-Evidence of a previous repair in the driver side quarter
-90% tread all tires
-Poly Bushed, Old Man Emu suspension

I truly appreciate all of the help from the D90 forum - browsing through the technical discussions and finding NLA parts. I'd like at least $12,500 from her to not make me feel sick about it - would like for it go to someone on the forum before I explore the craigslist/eBay route. If it doesn't sell at least I'll have a great excuse to keep it!

If I didn't have almost all the parts I now need to build my D90 project I'd jump on this instantly - cheap price for a VERY worthy rebuild project..... or I'd drive her as-is and have a hell of a nice trail truck/DD.

I hope she sells fast or I may change my mind.

Does it have a clean or salvage title?

He states: "Branded Title"

So it's salvage/rebuilt or otherwise. Not clean - but for the $$ it's a great buy for the clean solid chassis/parts/roll cage/low mile running gear etc. Or a GREAT driver/trail truck.

Someone please buy this so I stop thinking about it! Ha!

Cheers,
Doug

Seriuosly? This is the deal of the century. Perfect for trail truck as it's already dented and beat!

Looks like the previous owner's ex wife didnt like her divorce settlement.

Badger top looks in good shape- did you add that or did it come with it? If it came with it, wonder why she didnt slash it?

Anyhow, looks like a solid buy for someone. GLWS

Oh man. I could have sworn it was going to be this one.

http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...ad.php?t=22764

Why does it only happen to the green ones?

Good luck with sale.

Can you provide more pics of the interior - full shot of front seats, rears down, detail of any slashes, etc. - and some pics of the slashed top (hop up on a ladder or something)? Thanks.

------ Follow up post added March 9th, 2011 11:26 AM ------

Also, truck has the Gutter Kit (didn't see that in your ad).

Out of curiosity, about what would it cost to to straighten out this body work and convert this to an automatic transmission with the look of a stock 97? Just curious if a deal like this comes along again, thanks

I really dont know as well as others on here, but my guess is that 5-10k for new body panels and doors, riveting, and painting..

To convert to stock look of a 97 with auto..I dont know, but I do believe the 97 center console is hard to come by.

Someone got a good deal on this. Hopefully they become, or are, a forum member and share a time line of the repairs, or build.

After a long, snowy 14+ hour drive from Klamath Falls OR to SLC UT, I arrived home just in time to surprise my 15 yr old son with his first vehicle. This is going to be a fun project for both of us. He has not quit smiling since yesterday morning.

I will post pictures etc as we progress. I am looking forward to lots of advice from fellow forum members. I know these forums are filled with folks with years of experience. I have used another forum for help in building my second off-road vehicle of another brand which shale remain nameless for fear of being flamed on my second post. I am really looking forward to fixing this up with my oldest son.

Cheers!

Nicely done! That's a great first car and a project the two of you will always remember. Best of luck!
