New poster here, I am very serious about buying a d90, but I am having a hard time not jumping on the first one see. This truck was converted from a manual to an auto tranny. Does anyone have any experience with this, is it generally ok or should trucks with this conversion be avoided.

I have a '94 with an auto conversion, and I think it's nothing to worry about in itself. As to whether or not the conversion is done well will depend on who did it

Wow Dave! You sound a bit cranky. That's a pretty harsh attack. I don't find that price out of sorts considering some of the vehicles that have been for sale lately.

I just saw this truck yesterday, and it looks really good. I didn't get a chance to look to closely as I was picking up a different Defender from this dealership. It is extremely clean, and of course, the Badger Top is amazing.

So Adam is the one who purchased that yellow Defender.

the new owner of this vehicle

Don't know if anybody is still paying attention to this thread. It's so old! That said I was the individual who purchased this from Park City 4x4 and boy what an experience it's been. Since purchasing the vehicle I've put in a new 4.6 liter shortblock (the original engine failed at 95k miles), I purchased it from Atlantic British to the tune of 17k with installation at Land Rover Bellevue. I've also replaced the interior, windshield, put in a 4k stereo system, had it rhinolined, had the tranmission rebuilt, replaced every engine component except for the radiator and the alternator (hey they are still working!) I've had the paint restored, had the hinges painted and one door which seemingly was touched up with an off color can of spraypaint, I've also added five new Toyo MT tires, a snorkel, a roofrack from Urban Offroad, off road lights, new running boards, new headlights, lots of diamond plating, just too much to list. I now think you can say with a high degree of validity that the vehicle is now restored! Pics below.

Why didn't you replace the radiator?

why not radiator?

because it was one of the few parts that is yet to fail! radiator and alternator still work great, although based on a dozen or so breakdowns and AAA tows I now actually carry a brand new alternator with me seeing as it's compact enough and one of the few parts not replaced, the radiator would be a bit large to tug around but I just had it serviced and it still seems to be in good shape
