Arrow 1994 D 90 #491 - Conniston Green

I'm selling my beloved Defender. I just don't use her to her full capabilities any more. My RRC gets me far enough from the roads for some peace and quiet and does so with A/C, heat, and comfort. The sale will help finance the purchase of a mid-60's American cruiser, hopefully a convertible(Galaxie, Comet, Fairlane, T-bird, etc), for me and a trip to Italy for a month for art school for my wife. I'm open to interesting trades + cash.

She is almost totally rust free. Any rust is just light surface rust. She's spent her entire life garaged in Texas. When I saw my first Northeast truck a few years ago I was horrified at what you guys deal with up there.
She's running like a top after a recent tune up. I did notice a small drip coming from the front diff at the car show yesterday. I'll be looking at that this week.
The truck does have the usual dings and scratches associated with being used to its full capabilities. I've tried to make sure those are visible in the photos.

The vitals:
  • 1994 Defender 90 - Conniston Green - Plate #491
  • Second owner
  • 138K miles give or take.
  • Transmission was replaced at 100K with another LT77 by previous owner.
  • LT230 Transfer case
  • ARB front bumper
  • Warn 9,000lb winch
  • Mantec sliders
  • 2 tops - full original snap tickford(needs some TLC) and full-length surrey top.
  • Locking Tuffy center console
  • Rear bench seat and seat belts
  • Raingler cargo netting
  • Wheels are spare steelies from D1s powder coated black. Same offset as originals.
  • 3" OME lift and shocks
  • 275/85R16 all around - About 50-60% tread left
  • New clutch about 8K miles ago
  • Head gaskets and radiator about 15K miles ago.
  • Checker plating on wings and rear corners.
  • New clutch master and slave about 4K miles ago.
  • New catalytic converters(Magnaflow) and muffler(Flowmaster) about 6K miles ago.

The not so good(remember the old girl is 18 years old now):
  • It does have a few 'love dings' from being offroaded. Nothing major but she's no show queen. She still turns heads.
  • Heater blower has never worked in the 10 years I've owned it.
  • Gas gauge doesn't work. Refill when odometer hits 180miles and you're fine.

Photo album with more pics: http://imgur.com/a/AW8UK

If you want pics of specific areas IM me and I'll get them as soon as I can.

I'll work with getting the truck to a local inspector of your choice and on your dime.

Asking: $21.5K

Offer accepted. Tentatively sold.

Pressing that 'Send' button was the hardest thing I've done in a long time.

EDIT: Not so fast. Un-sold. Buyer backed out.

I've still got the '91 RRC. Most importantly, this lets my wife pursue her art degree in Italy. In the end, making my wife's dream come true trumps my having two Rovers in the garage.

Change your starting bid to ten grand. Raise your buy it now by three grand. Take way too many useless pics of the under side like I did. It will sell. I was surprised, but mine is probably already at your reserve and it started yesterday. Nice truck and I hope you get everything you want out of it.

I missed that starting price. I'm not worried at all that it'll go past my reserve. Even at my reserve I'll be getting paid decent money to drive the truck for 10 years. Not many 90's and up cars go up in value like that.

You truck is nicer than mine and should sell easily.

Their Autocheck uncovered my little fender bender 8 years ago. I'd honestly forgotten about it it was so long ago. Repaired using OEM body panels and upgraded to an ARB.
