1994 D-90: $13000

Well, I've been toying with the idea of selling my D-90 for years, but now is finally the time.

First, I need to tell you that it is no garage queen and is not suitable for impressing your golf buddies at the country club, but we all know those cars sell for a LOT more. It has typical cosmetic issues (rusty door hinges, spare tire carrier).

I did a full tune up about a year ago and it runs very strong and shifts very well. It could still probably use a thorough maintenance check as it has about 84k miles on the odometer. For the past 3+ years, it has been used mostly for hauling mulch back from Home Depot.

It is mildly modified: air locker in back, British Pacific auxillary fuel tank, rock sliders, heavy duty trailing arms, tuffy security box, wing protectors, brush guard, auxillary driving lights, CB radio, Rovers North replacement soft top, OME suspension, 15" steel wheels with 33" BFG tires, front skid plate, bonnet painted matte black, and probably a bunch of stuff I have long forgotten as I have not been heavily involved with Land Rover stuff since moving from Colorado to Alabama in 2003.

It is a good strong running vehicle suitable for a trail rig or donor vehicle for a fancy East Coast Rover Style full restoration. There are plenty of small weekend projects to clean up the cosmetics and get all accessories functioning, but there are no known serious issues.

It was in a minor accident in 1998 and was professionally repaired by a shop in Denver that is typically full of exotic cars (forget the name as that was 10 years ago). I am confident you could drive it anywhere across the country without a problem. Whatever assorted Land Rover parts I have in the garage come with it.

I will add some photos later today, but you guys all know what a D-90 looks like (it is white)

Well, I just replaced it with a new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. It is no Defender, but the top of the line Jeep now meets my most basic minimum requirements. For the next few years, I need a reliable 4x4 that I can use for my field research without having to worry about maintaining an older exotic truck.

I have never loved a vehicle more than my D-90, but can't justify storing it in a garage when someone out there could be having a ball with it. A few years from now, I'll buy one of those perfect garage queen Defenders and give it the kind of thrashing it has been waiting 20 years for, LOL.

Dave, it sure enjoyed living on Mountain Avenue when I lived in Fort Fun. Go drink a fresh Fat Tire for me. . . can't get the good stuff here

To everyone else, I've got snurp coming on Saturday to check it out and will let you all know if it is still available then. I know I probably under-priced it a little bit, but it is still a fair price and will give the new owner some wiggle room to fix up all the little things I have not been able to do over the past couple of years.
