Phillip,

She went down the road smooth, straight and no vibrations or clunks? Trans felt good and no bearing/diff whine issues or anything? Brakes felt good and didn't have pulsing or pull one way or another?

If I was to send my brother who is a doc for the Navy (read: not super mechanical) there to drive it here to Maine he should make it Okay?

Thanks.
Doug

Glad it sold, but it's too nice for Doug! I'll probably buy this when he puts it up for sale next year, so I can't be too upset. Seriously wishing I had the space for it right now.

It's nice - and EXACTLY why I am buying it. I am very tired of junk.

The last nice one I had was the TWR and that was just too nice to wheel it. This one is a perfect blend.

I'm excited to have a solid driver.

Now to sell off the 5 speed Disco 1 I *just* bought. LOL.

When you're ready to get a defender next year I'll take this in partial trade plus $25k cash. No, it doesn't have rust.

I can help with that. It's a 96 Willow green SE-7, 5 speed/. About 110-112K miles, just had a lift installed and a set of 285/75/16 SSR swampers. This truck has not been wheeled. I was the second owner and it was a stock driver for 2 years, no problems. I purchased it with 73K original miles.

Asking 4k firm locally.

Needs a couple little things - pics can be seen on DWeb.

Couple slight dings, missing pass rear bumper side cap, missing wheel center caps, front seat bottoms are so-so, front shocks (bilsteins all around) have Ghetto style extensions on them to allow for the 4 inch lift, Pass rear window doesn't go down - its getting power but won't move. 7 seater, solid overall with minor rust in typical rear door jam but overall very solid - VERY good for a New England truck. Plenty of power and the trans shifts very smooth but has minor gear whine like they all do. Clutch feels excellent and I think is much newer. Has new alpine stereo with iPhone hook up and 4 new good speakers as well as a bunch of recent maint items. AC works but is not very cold. Have not messed with it. I may dye it and see if there is a leak?

Two people looked at her today and one guy is pretty serious - he bought my last blue D1 for his wife and wants this one for himself. LOL. Never know.

Carey could drive it south for you and then drive mine home? He has in-laws staying with him now and NEEDS a break!!

Funny. I own the exact same truck right now. Willow green 5 spd se-7 111k miles. Except mine is still stock, but I have the lift to go on.

Hey, buy the truck, get the thread for free!

She fits in my garage even with the rack. ~83" tall

Doug

Oh - and if the price was right on the Disco I could be talked into including the front and rear thirds complete with GBR 4:43 gears and a rear Detroit. Maybe an extra set of wheels, some spare maint parts, brake parts, driveshafts, gaskets etc. I could even include a smaller Ramsey winch.... An extra 5 speed trans, low miles D2 transfer case.... If you can't tell Id like to clean the shop a bit!

Just sayin.

Well its parked on unlevel gravel at the moment and was raining when I tried to measure BUT the maximum opening of the garage door is 82.5 and it fits so 83" is a safe number.
The guy I bought the rack from has slightly more lift and bigger tires and parked in a deck with "7ft maximum" height and the very top of the back of the rack would ever so lightly touch the PVC pipe hanging at the entry gate.

Also, I am going to be going to the Conclave event at the Cove 9/20, and may be able to trailer it up there for fuel costs... plus you could come down, wheel it and drive it home?

Wow, that's a good price! Unfortunately I know how peppy these are with the 5 speed and my lawyer has forbidden me from owning any more "fun" cars/trucks with manual transmission.
