I'm going to laugh if those dry-rotted original tires self destruct on the way to MVY.

I disagree. I know children who act like pros, and I know adults who act like this jackoff.

It says all you need to know that he'd need to take his dad with him to meet with Keith. Really, I'm sure it is dad who is into this venture, it's just his douche offspring just had to go show his ass in the wrong corner of the internet.

I still think the Puma110 guy was a bigger asshat than this character, but we haven't even hit the weekend yet...

He won't make it to MVY or ACK. The tires will blow out one by one on Rte3. Not the one south of Boston, the one north of Boston, that runs by Lowell.

I would be more concerned about the oil cooler lines. The tires looked good and are not dry rotted. They do not appear original btw, which is a good thing. Cooler lines appear original. Please bring a fire extinguisher. I do everytime I buy/drive one that does not have new ones. The vehicle is too nice to lose that way.

For what it's worth, I've sold 2 low mileage 90s to Keith over the years. They have been the easiest, and most honest automotive transactions I have ever dealt with. And he purchased them sight unseen. Did he turn around and make money on them? Hell yes he did! What do I care? I got what I needed. Keith is a good guy and a good member of this community. As much as this thread is amusing, this jackass needs to go. Somebody buy this "holier than thou" walk on water 110 so we can get rid of this guy. Then send it to ECR so it can be properly sorted. sorry couldn't resist.

I forget to check the board for 2 days and I miss one of THE best threads ever!

Definately thought it was a troll at first for sure. Who would be that inflamatory when they're trying to sell something? He's got pictures and a story though. Okay, so apparently it's a real truck.

I know this is a huge revelation, but I'm not the biggest fan of ECR. However, to come out with two barrels blazing at the two most recognized businesses in this hemisphere who know anything/everything about Defenders is a fantastic start for a newbie.

Then there's all this double-talk and bullshit. (I still agree that the Puma seller from a while back was more grifty by a long shot)

I don't know Keith personally, but most people I have talked to (and that's more than a few) hold him and Copley in pretty high regard when it comes to being straight and professional. I feel the need to throw that in there because I watch Keith/Copley recieve unsolicited donkey punches to the throat from ECR and douches like this when they have done nothing but extend professional courtesy and advice.

Read the entire post (all 9 pages) and somebody said it a few pages back hit the nail on the head.......the kind of people who will drop $75,000 and up on a toy are not going to buy ANYTHING from this guy. Guys that spend that kind of money usually figure out really quickly that if they can't buy a new one the next best thing is through Copley or if they're really lucky, some random LR dealer has one as a trade-in somewhere. If you've got $75,000 and up to spend on an absurdly impractical vehicle, you'd go to a place like Copley or some other well-known Defender specialist and tell them what you're looking for. THey will separate the wheat from the chaffe and you will pay for that.

The two last statements made by JSBriggs and Burke are also spot on. He will end up keeping this, or we will see it on eBay with a BIN of $70,000 for like six months.

Oh yeah, I'm still laughing about Horsey calling him out on the mileage and then the guy calls him a douche? I loved your response later Horsey......."again, using your principals of rounding....." I'm still in stiches!

The real reason this thread is hilarious is the seller. He is not offensive he is truly amusing! I'll probably end up meeting him someday because he's aparently a Masshole, so when I say please come back and amuse us with your well-vetted arguments.....I say it with the most possible affection!

Oh, and P.S. when he does eventually capitulate and ends up parting it out to get to his magic number (as JSBriggs aptly predicts), I am officially LICKING the NAS 110 rims! (note that Horsey! )

I'd thought about heading out to MV this week but would be embarrassed to be on the same island as this assclown. Kind of sad really.

BTW those original tubulars will delaminate from the inside and there is no dry rot required. Any tire over 5yrs old should be suspect. The tires and the oil lines both fail for pretty much the same reason actually.....age and thermal degradation.

Maybe we just need to start a "Stupid Thread of the Week." Previous weeks have been big engines and largest rims, to this genius.

He sent me some updated pics, but it's not pretty. After a few days on Martha's Vineyard it started rusting really badly. Then on the way back, his all original truck, with him as the all original owner, burst the all original oil cooler lines, and it went up in flames. Quite sad.
