To all you guys. As you know I live close to "The Experts" on these trucks. So I went to see them with good intentions of either selling the truck to them or consignment. When I called them on the phone they told me to bring it down so I did. As soon a he seen it he had a smerck on his face. I told him what i was asking for the truck , he told me basically i can give you this much $ for the truck. He picked it apart which was fine. So as I was leaving he told me "You will be back to sell it to me because I will make sure I make it hard for you to sell it" I sell the most 1993 NAS Defenders in the whole Country" So I left COPLEY and brought it to several Land Rover dealers, everyone called Keith & He Bashed The Truck over the Phone... So basically Their Looking To Steal this Truck .... So here are some Photos you All Requested.
Oh By The Way NAS #483 Heading To : Martha's VinYard Next Week for Vacation So Keep Your Eyes Open For Her!!! Vrrrroooommm

According to this it does appear as if it's been registered in the same place since '93, so John should be the original owner:

Unless I'm missing something?

EDIT: just realized last registration on that was back in Nov 2010...so maybe it's been "off the road" since then I suppose. Or driven on dealer plates. Or not driven at all. Or could be at the tail-end of a 2-year registration that's coming due this November. John, can you clarify?

Yes Keith the passenger doors were replaced “UNDER WARRANTY” as I stated when we met to discuss Copley's interest in buying it. If you can recall, the meeting went well but we could not arrive on a mutual price. On leaving you stated' “ I'll wind up buying it anyway because you won't be able to sell it yourself. “ EVERY ONE ENDS UP SELLING IT TO US”.
Well you went out of your way to do everything to shoot the Land Rover down to any Land Rover dealer I showed it to. So if your wondering why I'm not fond of Copley – That's your answer !!!

So heres one for your forum. If any part is replaced under warranty by the selling Land Rover Dealer, “is it or is it not “ an original vehicle ????. Based on your knowledge of selling cars including classic, once a vehicle goes to a dealer for warranty work you can “NEVER SAY IT'S ORIGINAL”.

Really not that big of a deal, still technically a "1 owner vehicle", though it is annoying as shit with the charade. Drop the games, truck still has potential/value/uniqueness...sell it on that merit, without the run-around.

Looks like the driver's side rear sill is rotting too. You also have some rot in the bulkhead in front under the pedals. It looks minor. You should have the "one" owner fix that too before the sale.

Maybe you should rhinoline the whole interior with asphalt. That would make it one of a kind.

Also because you seem to be completely clueless about originality, let me give you a lesson.

If a car goes in for warranty work and it has an axle replaced, tire, wheel, etc, yes you can say it is original.

If your car goes in for warranty work that includes body work originality is gone. Your truck no matter how good a paint job the dealer did, is no longer carrying the factory paint it left the assembly line.

You can spin it any way you like but facts are facts. In the case of a Defender most people won't care, but as a general rule new paint will ding the value.

Good luck with your sale.

Jason I can't believe it took you that long.

And yes, it looks "fairly solid" but this seller can't even be honest about the owner thing - it's taken a few days, but as you can see he's been leading on about other things as well. The owner thing could be a non-issue, but your evasiveness has made it a larger indication of your integrity as a seller overall. You've done that - not us.

I'll go out on a limb and say I'll give you $1k more than you paid the original owner for it.

Who knows, perhaps it was titled in his wife's or in-law's name. Doors replaced under warranty by LRNA are now not considered original? Does it really matter? It is not like anyone busting this guy’s chops will pony up with an offer.
