[QUOTE="rijosho"]Just FYI, more pics on here means more detailed shots of rust-prone areas such as under the doors, various shots of the chassis, taking the floor mats out and taking a picture, trying your best for bulkhead shots, door t-posts, rear crossmember details, etc.

What does that odd orange/red switch on the dash to the left of the steering wheel operate?[

Fog lights

It's a nice truck but at 75k you may want to address the rusty sills (floor pic, drivers side). It is a bit of a mess on an otherwise clean truck. Hopefully nothing else is hiding.

Good luck with the sale.
More photos coming soon surface rust on drivers sill due to my wife using it as a step to get into the truck she was only 5 ft tall. It only surface rust easy fix I don't want to fix it because this truck is untouched and original.

That's about the worst train of thought when it comes to rust.

Because at only $80k (I'm using your rounding principles) you can get a truck with only 30k miles (again, your rounding principles).

I had rust in the same spot but it wasn't nearly that bad. My truck lived its whole live in southern California. When I dug into the rust it was a complete mess. In that particular spot it rusts from the inside. Do a search on 110 sills and you will see what I mean. Either way it is easy to fix and I still think you should address it. Originality is only good when you are talking about it being in good condition. This isn't so it is hurting you not helping you.

Here is a link to the post I did about it. Now you will notice on my truck it didn't look as bad as yours but when I opened it was horrible.

http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...ght=rust+sills

Not sure what the plan is for your truck but if you want the most money you need to fix the obvious. Also you might want to sell it on ebay. 9 out of 10 people on this board are very knowledgable and are looking for a deal. When it comes to paying huge numbers people will go to a dealer so they get peace of mind. Since you are in MA you might want Copley to sell it on consignment. I know that is what they did with my truck when the guy who bought it from me was done with it.

Just a thought.

Hey John, Good luck with the sale. As you can see, this is a tough but knowledeable crowd. They will be far more concerned about corrosion issues than the visor hang tag, etc.

I was thinking the same thing. These trucks are becoming harder to find and what piece of mind to you get when you buy from a dealer.... Not a warranty on a 20 year old truck. These dealers are looking to make $10K To 20K on each sale.
So no dealers please.

Your opinions and valuation of what is nice and what is a good deal have changed in the last few years. This looks like a nice truck but the pictures are vague at best. The one shot of the sill shows an insane amount of rust for what should be a clean truck. As Horsey said I would want to see doors, bulkhead, underneath, service history, etc.

Again with my truck the first owner who had it from 1993 till 2000 only serviced it at the dealer. Sounds great but upon close inspection I saw that under Land Rover's corrosion warranty, all the doors were replaced. And that was a Los Angeles truck.

At this price I would want to examine all the paperwork and really have it inspected for originality.

I wish you luck with your sale but this really isn't the place it will sell. Hell with mine which was much cheaper it got murdered on the board. I wanted maximum money so I sold it on ebay. The new owner had it inspected at my local dealer and all was good.

You guys can sit here and mock Copley and say they have rusty trucks and rape customers and I will happily mock Keith (can anyone understand that accent?) but what you don't get is he has a client list and a reputation. He has people looking for trucks and people with 75k and up to burn don't care what deal you might give, they want peace of mind. A high end dealer like Copley or Britrover will take the time to make sure the truck is right before the buy it or resell it. Do you think a private seller is doing the same?

I figured as much. So much for your originality. With that in mind you might want to fix the other rust. Hell bring it to the dealer. That way you can say it was just part of routine service like the door replacement.
