1991 Land Rover 130 Tdi, LHD Crew Cab

Very rare, also in Europe. This is the first and only 1991 130 Tdi I came accross.

It is now in Michigan. Nice driving Left Hand Drive 130. It is a used vehicle not restored and I have not done any repairs to it. I drove it for app 30 miles and nothing major showed up. Good for a daily driver or for a project to turn it in to a show car.

The Good and Bad
- frame solid, surfuce rust, never welded and doesn't need welding
- engine runs nice
- appr 170 K miles, no records to prove though
- corners of bulkhead repaired, looks like a proffesional job though
- all four doors rusty, I would say beyond repair. Still doing their job though
- dents in hood
- sunroof
- seats and interior all original and nice, small rip in back of driver seat.
- Webasto heater
- Airlockers front and rear
- few little oil leaks, one of them the power steering
- no mats in front
- drives nice, brakes working good, steering fine,. think the A ball can use replacement
- rust on driver side foot panel, passenger side ok
- tires 50%
- black painted Deep Dish wheels
- paint faded
- electric windows (non factory)
- very recent canvas hood
- rust on driver side door pilar
- load bed attached with quick releasers to the frame, not factory.

Price $ 35 K including clear MI title

For additional cost I can also deliver new Puma seats, front and rear, NTO Boost wheels with new tires and spacers.

I was thinking to myself.....nice truck I bet it doesn't last long before being sold. 4th post Sold. Somebody got a great truck and saved me 50k for something I don't really need; but I was visualizing myself with the hunting dogs in the back headed down a snow covered road.

congrats Johan.. What do you know about the "quick release' bed?.. Ive never seen that before. Any idea why someone would want to be able to quickly pull the bed?

My thoughts were they may have switched between that and possibly a flat "tray back" style, or the large utility box style. My guess is due to the color it was also an ex-Fire & Rescue vehicle....which likely had the utility box (check my registry for pics). Possibly they switched from the box to the standard hicap - but wanted to keep both.

But honestly no reason to set anything like that up if you're considering a build - just go standard hicap tub.

Red was a quite comes color for Defenders back then. Also if it would have been a fire truck, it normally has holes in the dash and roof for lights, switches and horns. Pretty sure it was not a fire truck.

I have seen similar connections before where people switch between a camper box and regular bed.
