1990 RHD, 110 Defender from South Africa, 3.5 V8

I am a first time owner, bought this beauty last summer from a seller in FL with big plans and just don't have the time to realize everything I had planned for her. I rather her go to a good home and not sit in my garage. Taken her off road once and she is a beast as is. This forum has been wonderful and a wealth of knowledge so wanted to post here first. I am currently asking $28k. Not interested in trades until 2020.

I am not a guru/expert so to me this is a is a Clean 1990 Land Rover Defender 110 County. It is a 3.5 L V8 5 speed LT-77 manual gearbox, with galvanized chassis, full front brush grill, working winch, custom Hannibal Safari roof rack w/awning, dual battery system, front Hella spotlights, rear LED spotlight radio and A/C.

The 3.5 L V8 motor and gearbox runs well and has been maintained regularly according to the original seller and I added another 2k in maint and parts, (new Brake MC, front calipers/pads and new rear brakes). Also had to add 2nd row seat belts as the originals were shot, this was done in June-July 2015. I have all paperwork.

4 Tires on the vehicle are in very good condition and the spare hasn't been used.

This vehicle has A/C (the blower works, probably needs charging) and rear wiper motor needs attention. The heat has also been disconnected and I believe the heater motor and or matrix could be shot. It does have a small rust hole in left footwell, (see pics) and some rust on bottom of both 2nd row doors otherwise this truly is amazing underneath, (have to love the galvanized frame).

It has some of the classic minor defects/blemishes (see photos). The Defender has been Titled and licensed in Virginia. Have original import documents as well as a previous ZA registration.

Feel free to asks any questions and request more specific photos if needed via PM or email. I have attached a link on google drive that has all current photos but also posted a couple for that instant gratification most long for.

170.2k miles currently

VIN: AAPV0121510613931

If I did not have my 110 I would seriously have looked at yours. I feel you just need to wait it out also.

It looks like a really nice truck but for many including myself a working heater would be must have for a $28k truck.
The AC and wiper wouldn't hurt if they worked but not a deal breaker for many.

She is still for sale. Had a couple of pokes but after an initial interest email, they never replied back. Again I have not advertised her anywhere else, not a active seller, just the post here. Send me a PM if you have any questions.

Okay all, time to get a bit more serious with this sale, new list price will be $26500 since I have not had a chance to address the heater. I will give the forum folks 2 weeks, then I will have to list it other places....

Seems odd that this would not sell. The 3.5 is probably what is holding it back. The price is fine, but not an attention getting price.

RHD maybe why.

I wouldn't think RHD would hold it back, I absolutely love the RHD it is part of the WOW factor if you ask me. I couldn't bring myself to list it on ebay......lol. John, sorry didn't get your message from a forum post, if still interested I can send you a PM. Also, only a few inquires so she is still available. Thanks to all the folks that did PM me with suggestions. Incidentally the custom safari roof rack is removable, it uses a heavy duty clamp system. Someone suggested people might not like the roof rack.

I think the combination of RHD and price is probably the factor. Its a nice clean truck but IMO just priced a little high.

Just need to wait for the right buyer. I prefer RHD and not a fan of NAS models...maybe there is someone out there with the same taste with money to burn? Good luck

In the end last year I decided not to sell but here we are about a year fast forward and have decided to see if any interest. No changes, still a beauty in my humble opinion, runs great, had her out and about but not adding many miles, had her on some mild trails and she is just plain fun. Just a reminder, she does have the galvanized frame. Admins let me know if I actually need to list a new post with same info. Thanks for looking, weather is warmed up now good luck!
