1990 Military Defender 90 Rock Crawler

For Sale: Custom built Rockcrawler

Base Vehicle is 1990 Military Land Rover defender 90. It is registered in the state of California
A little history before the nuts and bolts. This was my dream truck. I have owned it since 2001. I have done much of the work myself but farmed out what I could not do. The current axles were put under it by Stinkyfab. I have personally replaced every single moving part in the entire truck. The rig is remarkably capable. As capable as any 4 seater I have seen. For the non rover, the engine is a 2.5 liter Direct Injection Turbo Diesel. It is incredibly reliable and very fun to drive. It averages 10mpg off-road. About 20 on road. This rig competed in KOH in 2009. It did very well until the battery came loose and ground out. Should I mention I have a new battery box?! Before the race everything was torn down, inspected, and replaced as needed.
The rig seats 4 adults comfortably. It has plenty of storage room in two compartments. There is some rock rash. I made the panels modular so that they can be replaced as needed. I can replace them if the buyer wants me to. I am asking $29,000 I am willing to entertain offers, but please do not lowball the offers. I do not have to sell this rig. In fact, I really don’t want to sell this rig. Please ask any questions at all!

Here are a few videos:

Gay porn!? How dare you.

BTW, I fixed my panhard rod. This time made out of 1.75x.25 DOM. I'm naming it the B-rad.

Oh, and offers will be considered.

Is it street legal? Or could it be made to be with a few minor modifications? (To drive to the trail head)

Hey,

It is registered in CA and is street legal with mud flaps. Every state is different though. I tool around in it all the time.

The one bad thing is in order to make it truely street friendly, you would have to upgrade the rear spool to a selectable locker or Detroit. Other than that, it rides and corners as good as any rover I have ever been in.

The full hydro was set up for racing and is uses a feedback orbital and high flow 10AN fittings. It performs very well at speed. I also have a windshield for it. No top though, and no heater. So snow wheeling would be interesting!
