1989 LHD 127 Land Rover Defender Ambulance For Sale

We have a LHD 1989 127 Ambulance for sale.

Originally we were commissioned to build it into a 130 double cab for a US client but now due to estimated costs the customer has decided he wants a 110 double cab instead.

So this unique donor vehicle is available for a new home.

This is an extremely rare LHD 127 Defender that was originally built for the RAF as a service vehicle with a Locomotors body and was based in Laarbruch and Gutersloh Air bases until 2002 when it was sold via auction and has been used as a rescue vehicle throughout the United Kingdom at race events.

It has been impeccably maintained over the years and with less than 70,000 miles on the clock, (only 13,000 of them accrued by the RAF). It is currently being imported to the USA and should arrive end of February. It has been refitted with an age compliant 3.5 V8 petrol engine and a 5 speed LT85 transmission to clear customs. The chassis is in great condition so this would make the perfect base for the ultimate camper conversion.

We're looking for a new owner for the vehicle that wants a project and is willing to take on the build. Please take a look at all the pictures.

At Savage Defender we specialize in the rebuild of 90 and 110 Defenders for casual fun use only. Anything specific like this is out of our scope of expertise, hence why we are selling it on. But for those that will know, this type of a vehicle in the condition it is in come along once in a blue moon, to coin a phrase!!!

Please direct all enquiries here on Defender Source or at our email info@savagedefender.com

We're open to offers, market values on Defenders seem to be all over the place here in the US so we're realistic, wanting it to go to a good home!

To heck with turning it into a camper. I think it would be cool keeping it the way it is. Great for parades.

Awesome looking vehicle! Kinda spooky in the rear, but would make a nice camper! Good luck with the sale!

I think when I'm on the market for one, if I don't get a white 110, I would want an airport fire and rescue.
Since I work at an airport, it would be a neat conversation and show piece.

A price is one of the few rules to post in the for sale vehicles section - literally you could just come up with the lowest number you'd allow it to go for - or else nathanwind will keep on top of you.

Don't do that to the seller! He won't let it go for less than $1000.00 and Pedro isn't due for a stipend increase from his wife until 2017...

Okay, well it seems a price is needed!
We have a lot into the vehicle in terms of prep before shipping, import costs, taxes etc. So we are asking $45,000.00 and this will be customs cleared and ready for pickup either in NY or NC or FL.

Cool factor is very high on this - whoever buys it, I vote to keep it original!

Not that my vote counts.
