1989 110 defender for sale

For sale

89 Defender 110

10 seats, no tears.
RHD
2.5 td runs great
128k miles
upgraded springs and Old Man Emu shocks (huge improvement, not the usual tippy canoe)
New radiator, oil cooler and twin electric fans (for the Arizona heat)
no rust on the bulkhead
new bluetooth sound system
Solid frame.
Daily driver, 2000 trouble free miles since importing
full length roof rack

Some rust on the bottom of the doors
Some paint bubbling and tatty areas but no big deal, mostly the paint is in good order.
paint job on wheels needs work

I love this truck, I bought it in Yorkshire in June last year, spent 2000 dollars on it on fixing the bulkhead, new radiator, fans and oil cooler and shipped it to Tucson where I've been using it as my daily driver and camping trips.

More pics to follow.

More pics

More pics.

The shop images are from England. You can see the bulkhead on the passenger side was rotten. A new piece was added, you can see the repair and the new radiator in the pic with the wooden board on the window.

I'll get more pics of the underside of the doors but all 5 are in similar condition.

There are a couple more spots that i'll get to later today.

The heater doesn't work. I was told its easy, I just haven't done it.

PM'd you.
Pictures of underneath (frame/rear crossmember, etc.), and some additional of the interior would be great.
Thanks,

Reg doc and other

Here are a few more pics. The rear cross member is fine. All the brown stuff is mud/trail dust from our recent camping trip. I just noticed the missing mud flap! Crap. I'll check the mounting, it was there when we went camping. I wasn't rock crawling or anything.

The upholstery is all good but in this light I can see all the dog hair too. I'll valet it all later this eve and add more pics tomorrow.

Will add more pics of all the under door crap in a bit too.

Note the Arizona registration which you can't get without all the US federal docs which I have.

Bump for Marcus. Chatted with him a bit about his truck and he seems like the real deal.

Price drop. 17500

We went out for an weekend last weekend and I'm feeling more inclined to change the turbo than I was. I have a brand new unit ready to put in.

Also I noticed the clutch cylinder is leaking a little, I needed to adjust the pedal. Shifts fine now But that will need attention too.

Given some of the other prices I see, this seems like a bargain for a good honest 110.

Not at all, please ignore my previous post: it was a request for the site team to delete my post. I had inadvertently written something that was intended as a PM.

Video

I took this a few weekends ago. We're heading north from Tucson on a slight incline up to Oracle. We've been running for about 40 mins at this point. Note temp is fine.

New Turbo

Just got the new turbo installed. As you can hear from the previous video the old turbo was whining pretty loudly the brand new one is great. The old one was definitely on the way out.

There is noticeably more power on acceleration and a few extra MPH on the top end. Just took it out on the highway and was cruising at 65 on a slight incline.

The clutch has been adjusted and is in good working order.

I can deliver to Overland Expo in Flagstaff if you pay a deposit.

Turbo cracked

Temporary price drop to 16000

As I mentioned in my previous post on this sale I just had a new turbo fitted. It was great untill today when I took it back to the shop to have them check out a small leak that had developed from the oil return line.

By the time they were done with it there was a crack in the housing. You can see it in the picture next to the bolt running down from the copper washer.

I think they caused it by over tightening the bolt but they deny this. (that's another story)

Anyhow, I'm going to get my old one reconditioned and installed. If you would like it in it's current condition I'm dropping the price to 16000. You would need to trailer it as there is too much oli coming from the crack to drive.

I intend to get it fixed next week after that it's firm back at 17,500.

I have video in a google folder of it running fine after the install on monday. PM me and I'll share that folder with you.

Cheers,

Marcus

No the heater isn't working. It blows fine just no heat.

I should have a replacement turbo in by the end of next week. I'll get a quote on the heater when the shop does the install. Never bothered me in Tucson and when it wasn't obvious, as the matrix isn't blocked, I didn't pursue it.

This looks like a good deal for a truck. Especially since he has used it and it seems like he is all about disclosure.

Good luck with sale.

Just took the turbo in to be rebuilt. It'll be in the truck by Friday. I'll post video of her back on the road and receipt for work done then.

Ill be away from Sunday 5th June till mid July but can work something out if someone wants to pull the trigger before I leave or pay me a deposit while I'm away and pick up when I get back.

I've got a google folder with more pics and video if anyone wants to shoot me their email.

I'm enjoying the chats with all the potential buyers!
