1988 RRC Toy axle conversion 4.6L

1988 Range Rover Classic SWB white 145,000 miles. $5000 o.b.o.

I’ve finally decided its time to sell my long loved project. It has not seen any TLC from me in some time and I would like to see it back on the trails. The truck was dismantled when I bought it and all of the upgrades below where installed over a year's time. What ever needed to be replaced was and using OEM LR parts when possible. The truck was used to off-road for 3-4 years then parked in the garage for the last 2 years. It is not perfect on the inside or outside but it wasn’t built to be a trailer queen.
Just a little about myself...I am a LR tech and have been for going on 16 years and know my way around them and all the work was done by me.

The Bad
Currently not running...Fuel lines need to be replaced...inner fender wings need sheet metal work...body mounts could use replacing...the D1 manual seats I have need to be installed...I have all of the parts except the new sheet metal for the inner wings

Upgrades:
Suspension
-Rovertym 3” lift with front and rear arms...added 1” Al spacers D2 front shock mounts
-Super Swamper SSR's 285-75-16 black steelies have a spare wheel but only 4 tires.
-Rovertym rear Y link spacer

Driveline
-Land Rover Oem front DC drive shaft -Tom Woods DC rear drive shaft
-Fully rebuilt LT230 from a D1 also installed updated drilled input gear.
-RoverTracks full Toyota axle conversion...with Yukon gears and Yukon zip locker in front and locrite locker in rear
-Expedition Exchange stainless braided brake hoses

Steering
-RoverTracks full steering kit...Panhard bar...Front tie rod with steering stabilizer relocator...Rear track bar...OEM LR tie rod ends
-Rebuilt steering box when the truck was put on the road...rebuilt pitman arm ball joint as well

Engine
-The 4.6L was dismantled and new bearings installed and OEM full gasket set along with a Crower cam and timing chain set. Two sets of intake trumpets...one cut down by an inch
-Newer Ecu has a custom chip from a board member
-Also had custom length battery cables made up in 1/0 sizing and heavy duty cable ends
-Ignition system gave me issues so all the trucks wiring and ignition module, coil, dizzy etc was rebuilt
-radiator replaced with all new hoses.

Accessories
-Warn 9.5xp winch with relocated and upgraded compact contactor and welding 1/0 cable
-On-board air system with 2 P38 air tanks and high output pump ( not fully installed though)
-Safari Guard front bumper modified with a LR winch tray...Custom sliders from local fab shop
-150 amp Alternator bought from Will Tillery
-Rebuilt sandblasted rear upper tailgate with new seals...glass was installed with windshield adhesive

Im sure there is more ive missed but if any questions just ask...So much more pictures available just ask!

i will say that if i can find some time ill get the engine running just to prove thats is fine but i feel the asking price is pretty good as it sits

i am open to offers for the whole thing too. I also have alot of spares that i wont need that willl go with the truck if the offer is right.....block with 4.6 rods and pistons for rebuild, trans, corner lights, seals etc...

Cool truck. At the risk of sounding like a troll; why not do the fuel lines when the motor was out?

Fuel lines are mostly on top of the frame and under the body shell, pulling the engine does not make them materially easier to replace.

Sheesh, I am already aware of Lucas' truck but my plate is full at the moment!

This has some solid components!

Don't do it, fix it and sell it. If I were closer, didn't have 4 Rovers already and still had time to wheel I would be interested.

All great words guys. It pains me to sell but need the garage space and spend more time on my mountain bike. I do still have my 59 to fix too!

------ Follow up post added January 6th, 2016 09:59 PM ------

Motor was out almost 7 years ago. Lol. The fuel lines rusted away 2 years ago and that's when it went into the garage.

We all know the value of a running vs not running rover, get it going and sell it!

Aluminum fuel lines (rated for fuel injection) makes it easier to replace the lines. OD is slightly bigger but still fits into the rubber hoses & the fuel clips (if you don't break them when removing old lines). I got mine from Summit.
