1987 D110 for sale

I have a customer who has asked me to reluctantly post his truck up for sale. asking price is $20,000.00 It is a 1987 D110 V8. This truck was imported by Rovers North back in the day and is the 110 that they used on their Mt Washington expedition. It originally came with a 3.5 carburetted V8 which has been swapped for a 4.0L with complete 14CUX fuel injection including cats, and evaporative system. I have been working on this truck for at least 15 years. In 2002ish I replaced the rear cross member. It has also had a NAS90 A/C system added, heated seats, and a smooth roof with sunroof. The LT85 has a noisey bearing and there is some perforating rust in the floor pans at the bulkhead. It has some body damage on the right rear panel, but comes with a replacement panel. The doors also need attention. The truck starts, runs, and drives very nice. The mileage on the odometer is 217,000. I think the odometer has been replaced and total mileage is unknown.

If I had a lusting for 110's, this is one I would want.

Just curious, how was a 1987 allowed to stay in the US back then?
Clearly it wasnt 25 years old when RN let it go, and they probably had it with some exemption.

This vehicle was bought new in 86/87 by Mark the owner, which was before the Mercedes law.

I wonder how many were imported before the Mercedes law. I would think not many.

I like the character the paint has acquired since the RN cover story images.

Well, there you go.
I know Mark would do anything underhanded...I just didnt know what the circumstances were.
Hey, what was the price then?
I bet he remembers...

Yeah, there's "patina" on this one. It's had lots of adventures.

I was serious…. I really do like it. If I had the funds to buy it, I would only straighten out the one panel & leave the paint as is to let the 'adventures' talk for themselves.

Wife just vetoed my purchase of this. What a cool truck and priced right. I agree with Kevin, the patina tells the story very well.

This is a really cool truck. I've seen it in person a couple of times this week. Just too much coin for me.
