Hello Board Members.
Here for sale is a 1987 110 RHD HCPU High Capacity Pickup. Asking $19,500
Vin Number is SALLDHHB7BA300764.
4 Cylinder Turbo Diesel engine, Runs like a dream. Where i live is at a higher elevation then the rest of Los Angeles, this pickup will go 75MPH on a straight line if you punch it..definitely does 80 going downhill on the freeway, better yet it gives me 65mph coming up the hill on the freway.. Great drive.
LT77 5 Speed Manual Gearbox, I guess without its smooth operation i wouldnt be able to drive this fast on the road, better yet, the torque on this baby does wonders in Los Angeles Angels Crest Highway right on my backyard.. It shifts very smooth and the clutch has no slip.
The Chassis is Waxoyled. Again it was also done a few years back in England.. I did clean a few spots on it and resprayed the whole chassis, on top of the Waxoyled, with satin black paint..( i might of done a mistake by repainting it because many folks like to see the chassis all original Waxoyled and etc ) but trust me i didnt paint on any rust areas or sand or mud, everything on the chassis was thoroughly cleaned before paint.. You will not find mud or sand in any of the hidden spots under the pickup.. Its extremely clean..
A few weak spots have been welded and repaired, 2 spots on the RHS bulkhead outrigger, 1 spot on the LHS body outrigger, 1 spot on the RHS on the far end of the rear crossmember, 1 spot on the LHS on the far end of the rear crossmember.
I invite you to bring a metal hammer and come and find any weak spots on the chassis..
About the Bulkhead.
Since the HCPU is from England, it did have 2 small (1 x 3 inch) holes only. one on each side of the bottom footwells where it meets the floor pans, on both RHS and LHS. I was totally shocked, i figured there would be more rust on the bulkhead. Buy luckily NO. Both spots were cut out and replaced with thicker metal plates. It is 200% Water leak proof.
The rest of the Bulkhead in the engine bay and top corners is in superb condition. Please see pictures.
As for the rest of the heavy metal parts under the vehicle is all SOLID.. Front and Rear Coil spring seats, Front and Rear Axle spring mounts, Transmission crossmember, Gas Tank Cradle, etc.
The original color was Venitian Red as you will see from the pictures of the Engine bay Bulkhead and from the Bed of the Pickup (Rhino Spray is peeling of in the bed). See pictures.
The new paint that was done in England a few years back is not the same venitian red but more shinier or fuller red color, which still looks like new.. Interior is all original with Black Leather Seats.
It does have aftermarket carpeting, with brand new headliner. All the instruments work fine. No Electrical issues so far..
There was few items that was rusted and needed to be changed and changed fast
New Bilstein Front and Rear Shocks. The old factory ones were really really bad, used and abused. Why go for the same factory style when you can get one of the Best Shocks around.. Whoever rides on Bilsteins knows how comfortable the shocks are, as a matter of fact i took the advise of the forum members on this issue.. You can hardly feel the small bumps on the roads and great handling on corners. Awesome shocks really..
New Galvanized Turrets. Old ones had holes all over.
New Front Brake Rotors.
New Front Disk brakes. Break Caliper is working great, sanded and painted matt black.
New Rear Brake drums.
New Rear Brake Shoes.
New Oil seals on front and rear axles.
New Bump Stops.
New lubricants and oils and gear oils all around..
Almost new Binnacle, just havent glued the hot/cold and fan speed patches yet.
Sure to be Brand New Doors. Door Hinges are Solid.
also many other tiny stuff..
I am going to post as much pictures as i can tonight
didn't realize its 4AM, wow.
i am sure there are many things i missed to say.
But overall This is a great High Capacity pickup..
