1986 Tithonus For Sale $10,500

A nice 1986 Tithonus will be available in 10 days time @ GB£7850/$11,000.We are just fully servicing it along with a precautionary Cambelt and tensioner change.New H/Duty battery.
This will be fitted with our neat conversion of New Landcover sliding side windows, and New LED interior lighting, plus a powerful reverse lamp.It has a standard 2x dual side seating in rear along with seat belts.I can however fit at extra cost 4x rear dual side seats.(for qty 8 persons in rear).Optional factory engine oil cooler fitted to this example. All running gear appears brand new.Drives really nicely and tight.
Shipping is approx $1200 to NE Ports, and import duties and taxes are approx $650.
This is a simple process which can be handled by both the buyer and myself (the UK exporter).I have plenty of references available.
* BUY NOW WHILST THE US DOLLAR IS STRONG,PRICES ARE SET IN UK GB POUND.THE US DOLLAR RATES MAY CHANGE UP OR DOWN*
I can supply a good 3/4 t Sankey Widetrack trailer at same time, for GB£750/1000. Shipping would be marginally increased to accommodate the volume taken up.

I understand some people may be concerned if central Roll over bar is taken out, but with removal- it allows clear vision through side windows. The Rear bar is left in place and can be strengthened with a 30* brace if desired, without impeding the vision through the window. All take out parts can be included for future owners to retro fit if required.Worth noting all Series and stock Defenders never had a full Roll over cage fitted,so it is only a recent upgrade.Beauty of these conversions is the added 8" headroom on the Tithonus, which allows the decent sized windows to be fitted. Therefore creating a more accommodating passenger area.

Agreed, but nice to have the full cage aesthetically for going topless ;-) Or to act as hoops for a full s/t- do you have access to the s/t hood for these? With or without windows?

I can get New Soft tops, with and without side windows. In various colours. - If converting to a Soft top, then you will need a Windshield header rail, and the two part fitting system around each door frame.(These 5 parts in total are difficult to find). Also if converting to a Soft top, a rear lower drop down tailgate is also required with a associated fitting parts.

------ Follow up post added July 20th, 2016 04:19 PM ------

Agreed, on Full cage being better than part of a cage, but how far do we all want to take the Safety issue? People have fun in Flatfender Jeeps,Series Landrovers,Haflingers,Toyota FJ series etc,and most of these early vehicles do not have full cages,if any at all.... The Tithonus has 2 hoops around the drivers cabin, and how many more do we need in the aft?
-Suppose it depends on how much serious off roading we are intending to do.

Chris has a valid point- especially if kids in back, given it has the additional seating. The other thing is the bed is reinforced for the extra cage, and it is a shame to have half the system missing.

I converted one of my h/t Tith to s/t, and the bits are available, but much easier to source on your side of the pond ;-)

Thanks

Yes i understand.Well if anyone wants to buy the Tithonus, they can request to have the rest of the cage take out parts and re-install it themselves later.Or take a stock truck from me without having the rear side windows fitted,at a cheaper price.
The Soft top parts are available in UK,but are hard to find and expensive. As nobody is dismantling Soft top Tithonus trucks.

Tithonus at $10,500

This is the actual 1986 Tithonus that is now available at $10,500. -without New side windows fitted. Or $11,000 with New side windows fitted. Visually 'as released' from Military, not had time to pressure wash it yet. But now fully serviced with Cambelt change and all oils+ filters changed and brakes bled and adjusted. She runs like a dream i have just driven it 40 miles, and it does drive really well.More pictures soon when i have cleaned in and out.
Favoured Shipping ports with RoRo are: Baltimore, New York, Brunswick, Jacksonville..
