1986 Land Rover 90: RHD 200Tdi in Virginia

1986 Land Rover 90
Arizona Tan
Right Hand Drive
200Tdi
5 Speed
Chassis: 148,000 miles
Engine: 142,000 miles (?)
Clean, Clear Virginia Title
Warrenton, Virginia

$15,000 ONO

Hello all,

I think it's time to consider the sale of my 90. I quickly put it up on CraigsList to gauge the interest of the general public, but I'm growing tired of people emailing questions about my "International", "Bronco", and "Jeep".

I'm in graduate school in the UK, so I'm back and forth across the Atlantic every now and then. I figured I'd start the ball rolling now that the weather has gotten warmer and I had an opportunity to take some good photographs while I've been home.

I bought it last summer from Tony Brooks (abrooks). As far as I know, it is an original "pickup" cabbed truck.

It was converted to a 200Tdi from a Discovery a few years ago. I'm under the impression the engine has a few thousand miles less than the rest of the truck. It received a new rear crossmember and outriggers around the same time. The chassis is in very good condition for it's age and in comparison to most others. The bulkhead is good; a few patches were done recently. Footwells are in good shape as well, one side has an older patch and the other side could use a small one. Fluids are fresh. The doors were painted to more closely match the rest of the truck.

Headrests were added, as well as a full sound deadening kit. Waterproof seat covers are on top of seats in quite good condition. It has NAS D90 alloys, spacers, and 285/75 BFGs with good tread. It's roughly a 2" lift

It has a flip-top center console; inside - I wired the two roof-panel speakers to a CD player. It helps cut the monotonous drone on the highway.

It starts every time without issue, doesn't smoke profusely, doesn't drip much and goes and stops well. 4WD Hi/Lo work great. It's been known to pull a few people out of the slop at some of the horse races out here in the country.

I've tried to cover most bases and answer most questions. As with most unrestored Land Rovers, it could use a few things here and there, but it is a good example of a diesel 90. It'd be a great one to off road without worry, or drive daily - as I've been doing.

I'll be in the UK from 05/15/13 until approximately 07/31/13. There's a good chance I'll return to the US in between those dates at some point and would be more than happy to arrange something with a prospective buyer. I really just wanted to get this listed and on the market before I left, as I know that selling can take some time.

It probably won't come with the Thule rack.

I've been as forthcoming and honest with my descriptions and photographs as possible. I'd be more than happy to discuss the truck in further detail. E-mail is the best way to contact me.

I might be interested in a trade for a 110.

Please take an opportunity to look over the complete set of photos here:

Thanks!
Will

timing kills me. I need to stop looking at this, even though this is EXACTLY what I want.

Send me a PM with your situation. I'll be overseas for a couple months, so I can be VERY accommodating.

I like the rack. Did it take any mods to make it work?

I've been in the Scottish Highlands and Northern Wales for the last few weeks, so my apologies for my late replies.

I'm switching web hosting, so there is a new link to photos of the truck:

It fit pretty well out of the box. It's very sturdy. I'm pleased with it.

I have a 422XT Xsporter. The Pro has just been released; no idea how well it fits. Hope that helps!

Yes sir. Thank you for the information.

I'm looking for one for my 109" pickup.

Very interested in giving it a look whenever youre back in the area, however Ive moved to DC, seems like they may be stricter than most on registration and inspection, does anyone have any ideas on this front?
Thanks!

Andrew, I know that the Owner's out of the country but that his father is in town and happy to show the truck.

As for the DC registration, I wonder if you can register it as an antique as you can in the Commonwealth to avoid some of the heartache.
