1985 Land Rover 110 V8 LHD only 8,960 miles

Ever seen or driven a new 110 like they were in the eighties ? this is probably the closest you can get !

This car spent its live in Italy as a local fire truck and drove less then 9000 miles in the last 30 years. I have seen, and had, quite a few Defenders but never saw one in this condition. There is no rust on this car. Just nothing ! There are no scratches, no dents, nothing. There is no corrosion on the aluminum, nothing. This car drives like new, handles like new and looks like new.

The color is RED from factory. Engine room, inside of doors, under body, everything is red.

Engine room looks like new. All the brackets and bolts have the original zinc gloss. Front seats, mats, door cards, headliner, everything in very good, almost new, condition.

What more:
- newer Wolf wheels
- almost new BF AT tires
- checker plate in the back (see picture)
- NO inward facing seats in the far back
- tacho , vacuum gauge
- small rip in rear bench
- brand new original Land Rover rear door (was missing because of fire equipment)

Because this was a fire truck it had some modifications to the rear body. We converted this back to the original station wagon configuration. Therefor we installed new rear fenders and rear door. On the pictures you can see some interior parts are missing. THese will be installed later.

This truck is on its way to US, expected time of arrival March.

Price $ 55,000 including clear MI title

I know this is not cheap but I hope people understand that cars like this hardly ever show up and are always and everywhere expensive.

x2, I'd be curious to see what mods were done originally before johan converted it back to the regular SW.

Beautiful vehicle. Have been looking for a LHD 110 for some time. Little more than I want to spend as it will be an extra vehicle, but absolutely gorgeous!!

What the others have said - if you left the FD stuff on the truck, I would have given you your asking price. Now that you have butchered it into something ... 'common' .... why bother? <wink>

Ball busting aside.... very nice find, good luck with sale.

I wonder if it could be imported if it still had the FD mods.

There should be no problem with importing the fire engine. The possible hurdles lie at point of sale and point of registration.

Some localities (not all) mandate that the blue lights (lenses) and the sirens are removed before it leaves public service. Pumps and such are normally not an issue.

When you register it in the USA in your home state - home state laws apply. I think if you lived in Pennsylvania - you are allowed to keep the blue lights if you are a VOL Fireman. Virginia does not allow blue lights at all on privately owned vehicles - so a vehicle should not pass inspection with blue lights on and may be subject to fines (even with an antique registration). If you swap the lenses to RED and limit the number of lights to two - then you are back in the good graces of VA law. (Sadly - no siren allowed)

If you do not register it - make it a trailer queen for car shows - the sky is the limit.

If you place "permanent covers" over the lights then you are back in business. There was a company that sold "socks" to place over the lights so you could drive your fire engine on the road between car shows (and pull the socks off for showing).

But we are off topic (sorry for the hijack) - great car - seemingly fair price - so very tempting....
