1985 Land Rover 110 Diesel, Stationwagon, LHD, brown

This listing is for a very nice 110 LHD station wagon, 2.5 L diesel. This car spend most of its life in the southern part of Italy, dry and warm climat so hardly any rust.

The car is all original and has a factory AC, which is NOT working, some parts like the compressor, are missing. The condenser, fan and everything in the interior is complete. Sure someone handy can get this AC running again.

The good:
- frame solid,
- Bulkhead no rust
- Interior very nice, original seats. Headliner nice
- 9 seater specification
- Gearbox nice and smooth. Brakes, everything working good.
- Power steering
- 90 Kmiles. No history to proof though
- set up for dual battery (only one battery installed though)
- no dents in body

The Bad:
- tiny rust hole on driver site foot well, other site in perfect condition
- rust on one door frame, passenger site (see picture)
- carpet in load area damaged
- mats in front not original
- Replacement engine, no history of the engine is know. Runs very nice though, no excessive crankcase pressure. FOr what it is worth, previous owner of the engine said there was no oil consumption.

The car is on its way to Michigan, ETA May. Title work will take about six weeks so I expect it will be available somewhere in July.

price $ 23,000 including clear title and available in Michigan.

I might be able to install a 200Tdi engine at extra cost.

seems quite a few 110 are sold last time on this site, also by me ..

Time for a bump for this one.

200 Tdi installed (state side) .... $ 25,000.... no serious rust.....and LHD ..... quite rare compared to other ones for sale. ( I think anyway.) !!!

Nice looking original 110. That said...with everything that needs to be addressed I would think mid-high teens would be a more fitting asking price even with the 200tdi installed. Just my 0.02! GLWTS.

Nice LHD. Seems like 25k with the 200TDi (and maybe an easy to fix a/c) would be a great price. GLWS.

I didn't mean to hurt your feelings or your sale. I wasn't trying to be negative @ all…I was just stating that you might get more traffic with a lower price due to the cosmetic and mechanical issues that YOU stated above in your post. You said $15k…not me! Good luck!

Roverchef,
Ad crapping is ad crapping. Apologizing while ad crapping doesn't make it right or make it an acceptable practice in my book. His truck, his price. If you don't like the truck or the price don't buy it. If it really bothers you, P.M. him with your concerns but neither of your posts needed to be made in public.

Sorry Johan, I couldn't keep my mouth shut any more. Best of luck with the sale, I wish I had a few more garage stalls at my house.

You should put the pipe down. Have you ever seen a lhd tdi 110 for sale in the teens in the US ? Correct Tdi conversions typically cost close to 10k or more between parts and labor.

Thanks Javelinadave and Doug.

By the way, the 200 TDI is an original Defender engine. Aircleaner, exhaust, radiator, water and oil cooler pipe are original as Land Rover made them for the 200tdi

Finished the installation of the 200Tdi today. New clutch, new filters. Timing belt was done 6K miles ago.

Hardly drove this car but today after the installation of the 200Tdi I took if for a 20 miles trep.
Really good driving car, no sounds from the undercarriage, steering straight (for a Defender) and gearbox really smooth.

Working now on some cosmetic items, will post pictures later this week.

Ok, have done some work to this car and am not going to change the price

Still $ 25 K

Copy from my first post:

The Bad:
- tiny rust hole on driver site foot well, other site in perfect condition

Welded new 3" x 2" piece in place (see picture)

- rust on one door frame, passenger site (see picture)
Welded new door frame in (see picture)

- carpet in load area damaged
Put in new mat (see picture)

- mats in front not original
Nothing done, these are nice

- Replacement engine, no history of the engine is know. Runs very nice though, no excessive crankcase pressure. FOr what it is worth, previous owner of the engine said there was no oil consumption.

Put in 200 Tdi engine !

Further;
- put on new rear mud flaps
- with the Tdi engine a new clutch and pressure plate were installed

Two things I didn't list before:
- rear door (the 5th) has minor rust
- body has some hail damage on roof and on the side of the doors. I wouldn't consider it major, just wanted to list this. Difficult to catch in a picture but tried to. See below.

BUMP

Hasn't sold yet, maybe I am to honest about my trucks and tell to many negative points....

Ok, Lets try it again, and now only real sales man talk :

"This is for sure one of the best you can find in the country. This is LHD and has a TDI. Comes from Italy and hardly has any rust, it is all original and in very good shape. You hardly find them like this anymore. The price includes the states side installed 200 Tdi, one of the best engines Land Rover ever made. Not a Discovery but original Defender 200Tdi with a fuel millage of 25 mpg or better. Land Rover passed customs inspection without any problem. This is really the best deal you can have on a 5 door Defender "

Ok, although above is true please also read my earlier posts !!!
