1985 D110 Beluga Black in Alabama

Might as well run an ad for this guy too. I'd be happy to keep either.

Hello,

I'm heading overseas for a year and would like to sell my Beluga Black Defender (Land Rover 110). This is my daily driver, I have made the trip from miami to little rock in it twice and a few more Dothan Alabama to Little Rock trips on top of driving it everywhere I go every day.

Good:
- Fresh Paint
- New seals all around

Bad:
- Leaks oil, again not an issue around town between regular services, but I add about a quart on a ten hour road trip.
- Body rust, under doors, and load space under rear seats had been cut away and replaced.
- Bulkhead had rust aft of the rear fender that was cut away and new metal welded in, foot wells had been cut away by previous owner and replaced with new metal.
- Right front passenger door does not open from inside.
- Rear right window regulator crank does not hold window up so I bungie the crank to the door handle.
- Ignition key does not spring back from engaging the starter
- Chassis has some corrosion

$26,500

Every picture I have taken of my Defenders is on http://www.facebook.com/BLKFLD

Thanks
Oscar

Sounds like the issues I had with my ignition switch recently. It's a $17 part and 15 minute fix if you decide to tackle it.

Thanks Skeena, I love it but I really don't want to burden my GF with it while I'm gone, even though she thinks it would be the coolest thing ever.

Nathan, I would really like to fix it. can you tell me more? Is it a repair or a replacement of the entire ignition switch?

I followed Josh's writeup here:
http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...ad.php?t=34421

And more specifically here:
http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...56&postcount=7

But really it's just:
1) pull the dash binnacle
2) disconnect the ignition wires (noting specific location for reassembly)
3) use small / eyeglass screwdriver to take out the screws on the side (one facing you, one on the opposite side...but can be reached by just putting your hands inside the cavity area)
4) remove old ignition switch, replace with new, follow above in reverse.

I have a 3.9 distro/ serp belt engine with a hopped up cam and edelbrock manifold and carb bolted to a disco R380 with brand new clutch that goes along with the sale.
